•/ You can't beat vintage leather. 🙅🏻‍♀️

I'm not a vegan, nor a vegetarian. 🙆🏻‍♀️
(Maybe a sign to follow or unfollow me?)
I still believe in a balanced life, and everything in modest proportion. ⚖️
But I heard leather production and leather tanning is quite horrific.
So I only buy my leather second hand. 🙏🏼♻️💚

Here to prove (new) fashion and personal style are two different things 🤌🏽

•/ I recently discovered the new term 'Matrescence'. 🤰🏻🤱🏻👩🏻‍🍼

It gave me a major sense of relief.
It validated my struggles and feelings the last four years. I guess I felt very ashamed and ungrateful for not being on cloud 9 for the most part. Since becoming a mother was my deepest desire for many years.
Now I decided I want to free myself of the shame and guilt. So I just separate those two.
I love my son to bits, he makes me the happiest woman alive. Unconditional love, my heart almost explodes.
Meanwhile I feel like I lost myself along the way. Empty and lost, no idea who I am anymore.
I read someone saying "She did not die, she's just on her journey of becoming."
Since then I love to look at it that way.
Matrescence takes 3-5 years, they say.
My son recently started school and I'm feeling more light each and everyday I prepare his lunchbox. 🍏🥪

Big shout out to @sophiejo.c.44 of the TooMuchClub with the dresscode challenge"Spooky, but make it wearable". 🦇🕸️🕷️🎃

•/ What if Harley Quinn and Wednesday met at the after party? 🕸️🕷️

It's Autumn season and @sophiejo.c.44 had a nice dresscode challenge "Spooky... but make it everyday", without becoming too costumy.

However I've had a terrible Tuesday hangover from last week's night out dancing. 👻
Instead of being playful with this week's theme, my creativity felt restricted and I wasn't feeling myself. The comfortable mom fit was really pulling at me. 🙆🏻‍♀️ So Gloomy and Spooky it is. 🌚

Do you think I hit the brief? 🦇

Join me on my Matrescence journey how to reconnect, redefine and becoming more of myself (again). Replacing my momfits slowly but surely.

•/ Yesss, let's take up space! 👄

I'm an introverted Capricorn,
who doesn't like to take center stage.
I speak with a soft voice.
In crowded rooms you'll find me in the back.
I'm socially awkward, hyper self-conscious and
I have difficulties with being among a group of women.
But don't confuse it with a lack of opinion
or with being shy.
I am strong-hearted and
I take up space when I decide to.
Meanwhile staying true to who I am.

My thrifted fits are my language. 🫦

•/ How did this account come to life?

I switched careers and started a hair dressing course in 2019. Just when I finished and got my certificate COVID came along. During lockdown the confinement of four walls felt very isolating. I started to contemplate about what really made me happy?

Someone once told me: "It's very cool you decided you want to become a hair dresser. But I see your true passion is second hand clothes."

With that in mind I decided to document my thrifted outfits and create an account to inspire people to buy more second hand, less fast fashion.
(Back in 2020 OOTD pictures, GRWM reels and vintage fashion was not such a hype as it is today.)

After the hair salons openend and life slowly started to happen outside again, I became a mother. Honestly, Matrescence hit hard af.
Now my 4 yo son started school and I finally feel the space to find my way back to things that make me feel good. 💚

•/ I dress my age, because that's my age 💼.

No shade but frankly I don't get these people on social media who are saying they don't dress age appropriately.
To make a statement they dress themselves younger?
Because who says what is and what's not?
I don't like putting 🏷️ or thinking inside a 📦.
What I do know; I love thrifting and second hand clothes! ♻️✨💚

Here to prove second hand fashion is anything but outdated & boring. 🤌🏽

•/ I'm a sucka for oldskool 90's-00's skate shirts. 🙈

Actually not an Autumn trend for 2026-27.
Just an addiction that sticks with me.
During my thrift sessions I always check if they have skate shirts with a dope artwork (I don't have yet). 🐉🦅🔥🐍

Actually not an Autumn trend for 2026-27.
Zhe zebra and I go waaay back.
And it will stay in my wardrobe for many many seasons.
Normalising rewearing.
Always thrilled when I find a cool zebra item second hand, which I can add to the collection! ♻️

•/ Toddler talk 🗨️

Four year old toddler is on the loo.
Mother enters to assist. 🧻💩
"Wow, mommy, that's a cool tee!"
Mom: "Thank you, my love."
"Who do you wanna be, mommy?
I'll be the one in the blue underpants.
Then you can be the one in red underpants."

•/ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 👀

@dadthrowsfits was asking about our thrifting superpowers the other day. ☄️🦸🏻‍♀️
I think mine is turning something old-fashion which everyone has written off, into something cool again. 😎
The superpower is to first recognise it on the rack or between a big pile of second hand clothes.
Secondly you have to give it a chance and try it on.
The rest will magically happen in front of your wardrobe 👩🏻‍🔬 ⚗️🧪

P.S. Sizes used to be smaller. This skirt says it's a size 40. Don't let size labels distract you.
