The strongest Irishwoman of all time is officially touching down in Houston this October.

It’s been 10 years since an Irish competitor stepped onto an American platform, with Rory Girvan last doing so at the 2016 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships in Killeen, Texas.

A decade later, Jordan Bright brings Ireland back to Texas. 🇮🇪

Come watch the strongest women's powerlifting meet in American history at the Stafford Centre.

2027 Provisional IrishPF Calendar

We’re excited to share our provisional 2027 calendar! Please note that dates and locations may still change before the calendar is finalised.

Following valuable feedback from our members, we’ve made some adjustments to the timing and format of several National events to help create a more balanced and exciting season.

University Nationals will move to February and will be the final qualifier for Junior Nationals for Junior’s in third level education. The final qualifier for Sub Juniors and Juniors not in third level education will be the December 2026 Open at CityGym.

Bench Nationals will join our March Open Weekend as a dedicated session within the weekend. The final qualifier for Bench Nationals will be the December 2026 Open at CityGym.

Junior Nationals will now take place in May and is already shaping up to be an exciting event!

Due to increased demand, Masters Nationals will now be a 1.5-day event, with the remaining 0.5 day dedicated to an Open competition.

The final qualifying opportunities for Masters Nationals will be the March Open or April Open, with April Open dates still to be confirmed.

Open Nationals returns in November, with the August Open serving as the final qualifier.

We are also currently in discussions with the NIPF regarding another joint competition in 2027.

More updates to come! by @irishpowerliftingfederation

IrishPF's number one powerlifter, @jordanbright__ has been added to the stacked roster of Avancus Houston.

Jordan will be looking to run it back against USA's Meghan Scanlon, after IPF Worlds in June where Scanlon cinched the overall bronze medal from Bright by a mere 300g bodyweight.

Congratulations to Jordan!

BENCH EUROS RECAP☘️
🟢Masters

Clare Patterson won gold and overall M1 best lifter with a massive 145kg bench press in the 84kg+ category.

Joanne Coogan picked up the silver medal in the 76 M1s in a tight battle. A 97.5kg bench press, 2.5kg up from worlds where she secured bronze in May.

Our 2 M1 ladies placed 4th overall on team points.

🟢Open

Sheena Doyle makes her first cap for Ireland. 92.5kg in the 57kg category with more in the tank. We wish her the best of luck at the upcoming Western Europeans!

John Slattery found himself in an 8 way battle for the podium. Benching a whopping 240kg, that put him in provisional bronze with 7 lifters to follow, John finished up in an impressive 4th place.

🟢Sub juniors

Shane O’Mahony’s first outing on the Irish team. Shane finished up with a 145kg bench in the 83kg class, after a rocky start missing his opener, Shane held his composure to get on the board with his second attempt.

U83kg teammate Sohaib benched 142.5kg on his 3rd attempt, also having missed his opener on a technicality, Sohaib showing his experience was able to make the necessary adjustment to get on the board with his second attempt.

🟢Juniors

Jessica McAtamney made her Irish debut in the U63kg class. Coming away with a very easy 75kg on her 3rd attempt, plenty of potential for Jess!

Kiera Loftus, no stranger to the international platform, but her first on the bench team. Pressed 87.5kg in the u69kg class

Joshua Preuss added 2.5kg to his worlds performance, benching 172.5kg in the u93kg category.

Aaron O’Dea at his first international had a fantastic day out bagging a 5kg PB with 180kg in the 105s.

Barry Walsh continues a consistent run of solid performances at international level, in a battle for the silver and bronze medal which forced our hand to load 202.5kg, proving to be too much on the day. Barry finished up with an impressive 195kg in 5th place.

Well done to our athletes and our coaches @jenxharrington @clarice_odyssey 🇮🇪 by @irishpowerliftingfederation
