When you get to perform an opera composed by one of your all time favourite musical heroes AND get to perform a folk song together with him . ♥️✨
Growing up with folk music and being pretty much a folkie myself, this was a VERY special moment for me.
.
Thank you @rufuswainwright , thank you for your music and thank you for your artistry. I can’t wait to perform your music again.

🎵 when you’re just a cleaning woman and this bloody diva keeps on having people lined up for her at her dressing room EVERY day, you can’t help but get a bit nasty and jealous about it…

✨ Welcome, I am Iris van Wijnen ✨
International Opera Singer • Singing Teacher • Certified Yoga Teacher • Reiki Master

For many years, I lived through sound, shaping my voice as my most trusted companion.
Along the way, I discovered something profound:
The voice is not only an instrument of music. It is an instrument of truth.
A doorway. A guide. A bridge between who we are and who we are becoming.

Yoga and Reiki entered my life gently, then became essential parts of my journey.
They transformed not only my voice, but also the way I breathe, move, feel, and connect with myself and the world around me.
When we learn to listen deeply, to the body, the breath, and the soul, something beautiful begins to unfold.
Layers soften. Energy flows. Healing becomes a natural return to wholeness.

These discoveries have profoundly changed my life, and they now form the heart of the work I share with others.
A space to reconnect with yourself.
A space to free your authentic voice.
A space to awaken what is ready to emerge within you.
Through Embodied Vocal Coaching, Yoga, Reiki, or the powerful integration of all three, I offer a gentle path back to your own inner wisdom.
A perfect triangle. A homecoming. A path inward.

I would be honoured to walk alongside you as we explore what wants to be heard, felt, healed, and awakened within you.
With love, Iris

Getting to add a new role to my repertoire is always so much fun and I cannot wait to share FRAU REICH with all of you. 🩵

We have many performances throughout the winter, so make sure to stop by this gorgeous town in Kärnten. 🏔️ ❄️

“Terrifyingly magnificent: Iris van Wijnen as Clytemnestra.”

“Van Wijnen represents power and its downfall. She has already sung Clytemnestra in Klagenfurt; the role has become second nature to her.

With her, music becomes language, and language is music.

She listens intently to every syllable of the chorus, full of suspicion, frantically clever, always alert.
She is ice-cold and yet roughened on the inside.”
