Because I got a lot of kind questions about how brynjar is doing, maybe it’s better to give a little update ☺️

Monday we had his lungs tested again, with the results his lungs are clean of ash and showed a really good report! Ofcourse that sounds amazing , the only thing is that he isn’t any better clinical, he still shows a lot of rapid breathing every day. Normal horse in rest is until 24 per minute, and brynjar shows everyday 35-45+ per minute. It’s way too high, he is on pain medication now to look if he’s improving on that. They think the problem is somewhere else now than in his lungs (hyperventilating because of pain). But we really don’t know where at the moment… so we will keep searching, and hopefully soon have better results🤞🏻🤞🏻 by @iriswijker_

The results showed a lot of ash in his lungs. So incredibly happy that we had him tested, now we can help him. If we would have waited, it would have become a chronic inflammation. In the coming weeks, we will do everything to get him optimally fit again, we will keep fighting! Thanks to all the experts♥️ by @iriswijker_

No Europeans for us this year. We’re still figuring out how we can help him with his health, and it isn’t fair to him to push him that much🫶🏻 Competing is fun, but I love him so much more! We will take it easy and help him wherever possible, love you B♥️

“Well well well 😂😂
It’s the 3th year in a row that we’re not able to show our best at the Dutch championships 🙊🫠 sometimes it was due his health, but this year it just wasn’t our weekend🤓 I had a really good feeling in the t2, only a big mistake in the loose rein by the gate. We had the same problem last year. Unfortunately we couldn’t hold on to that feeling in the v1, we were not on the same level that day. That resulted in a little bit chaotic performance. Of course it’s sad because we were on the right track, but I’m sure we will step in after this weekend again🫡🙌🏻. Time to focus so we can show our best at the European championships🌟🌟🌟

Of course I’m super happy with my boy! I think we made lot’s of progress in this last year. If I look back on when we bought him, he was 4 and I was 14. I can only smile! He brightens up my life every day💕🥹”

‼️I wrote this when we were driving home after the Dutch championships. That night, we had a terrible fire at the stables, which, of course, put everything into perspective. So incredibly thankful for all the firefighters and everyone else who helped us 🥹🙏. Brynjar has a few breathing issues, but they’re under control now with his medication 🙌🏻. It’s not certain if we’ll be able to compete at the Europeans; only time will tell. He’s getting all the time he needs, and we won’t rush anything 😇. Just so thankful they’re both still here 💕💕💕. We had a good competition day again🥰
We rode a great T2 with a PR of 6.87🫡 The fourgait was cool, but I made some stupid mistakes 🙊 still a good score of 6.43. Happy with that! We rode for a long time around 5.9/6.1 so that’s a great step in the good direction 😋.

But which makes me the most happy and proud is that we’re SO MUCH more a team than last year, which makes it a lot more fun🥹

I’m a little bit speechless after this weekend. It feels like things are falling into place 🌟 I was in doubt whether I should start at Raamsdonk because of the heat and Brynjar got a little bit sick due to the grass last week🫃 but he really gave his all! In T2 there were some tiny mistakes but again a lot better. V1 was great, he got his walk back which is very nice, we focused on that the last couple of months. With a big PR of 6.5 I was very happy🦁. And then the T2-final , his second one ever and he did it like a pro😎. He gave me a great feeling which was good enough for a second place !🥈 I know there is still a lot of room for improvement, but that makes me even more excited 😋 So now a few days off and then we have training again , can’t wait☺️
