What do you mean your salon owner doesn’t come in 30–45 minutes before their appointments to help get the salon together? They don’t frequently check the towels or dishes? 👀

At Iron Ash Salon, I do my best to make sure everyone is taken care of. From stylists to clients, I care about all of you and how you feel while you’re here.

Part of making booth rent work is creating a space where stylists can focus on their clients without feeling like they have to do everything themselves. So I help out around the salon before, during, and after my scheduled clients. I even come in on one of my “days off” to clean, reset the space, and make sure everything is ready for the next day.

The goal has always been to create a salon where stylists can thrive and clients can feel heard, seen, and appreciated.

Iron Ash Salon is looking to expand our team!

We’re located in downtown Norman, less than a mile from the OU campus. The area has tons of life and foot traffic, from everyday downtown activity to big events like Norman Music Festival and the monthly Art Walks.

There’s a lot of opportunity here for hairstylists and barbers to grow their books, build their clientele, and become part of the downtown Norman community.

We carry Davines for both retail and backbar, with some Kevin Murphy products coming soon.

Relearning what work/life balance means is so difficult when I already had such a strong idea of what it meant to me before I became a salon owner. Although these moments when I can unwind and wash away the grim are incredibly therapeutic. I built this salon with so many amazing people and it fills me with so much happiness. Even the days that I’m beyond tired and don’t want to put on a face meant for the public, this salon and the people here make me forget I’m not 100%.

July marked 4 months open and I cannot wait to see what 4 more months bring us.

This is life lately. When I’m not working behind the chair, I’m cleaning the salon, folding towels, and doing everything I can to make sure not only my clients have a great experience, but that every stylist and their clients enjoy their time in this new space I’m building. It’s a lot of work, but seeing it all come together makes it worth it.
