Last full day in Death Valley didn’t disappoint. As always I saved the best for last with sunrise and sunset sessions at Dante’s View along with a jaunt up to the Ubehebe Crater. The mud cracks at the bottom of the crater were unreal, measuring ~5-inches high in some spots and even the cracks had their own cracks! We then finished off our day with one last dinner at The Inn Dining Room. The poached pear was on point! My guests and I sure are going to miss this place!

Yesterday was the second full day of our Interior Alaska trip (I call it the Ultimate Alaskan Road Trip 😂), and we left the cozy confines of the Lodge at Black Rapids and made our way south to Valdez. We had some of the best weather I’ve ever experienced this time of year and took full advantage of it. So many roadside stops for photos, but our guests all time favorite (besides the smell 🤢😂) was seeing the sea lions down by the hatchery in Valdez. Wildlife gets them every single time! 😆

Our day started in St. Joseph, MO, and as we drove across Nebraska all eyes were on a storm system that started brewing over the Colorado Rockies and headed northeast. As we began our chase near Ogallala, NE, we saw a supercell storm develop while popping down to Holyoke, CO and ended up driving right through it near Imperial, NE. In fact we saw an overturned semi-truck on the side of the road (we called 911), most likely knocked over by the 70+ mph winds. Mother Nature definitely gave us an incredible show as we wrapped up our last night of this tour. Surreal and insane are the two words that come to mind to describe this adventure.

What. A. Day. 🤯🏔️🇨🇭

We started our morning chasing sunrise at Seeburg Castle in Iseltwald, followed by the magical turquoise waters of Blausee Nature Park. Switzerland, you’re really showing off! 💙

Then came the adventure! 🚐💨 We loaded our vehicle onto the Autoverlad train in Kandersteg, traveled THROUGH a mountain via the Lötschberg Tunnel, and continued to Täsch, where we caught another train to the car-free village of Zermatt.

But wait… WE WEREN’T DONE YET! 😂

One final ride aboard the Gornergrat cog railway took us to 10,170 feet, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Monte Rosa Glacier and the iconic Matterhorn. 🏔️

And then came the REAL magic! Once the tourists headed down the mountain, we practically had the Swiss Alps to ourselves for one of the most spectacular sunsets our group had ever witnessed.

As one guest perfectly described it… “PHOTOGASMIC!” 📸🤣

Tonight, we’re sleeping at 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat, the highest hotel in the Swiss Alps!

Multiple trains, countless mountain views, thousands of photos, and memories to last a lifetime. ❤️

And tomorrow? We wake up at 10,170 feet for sunrise! 🌄

We kicked things off today in the charming town of Zug, where picturesque streets, beautiful architecture, and stunning lakeside views made it nearly impossible to put our cameras down. Seriously, Switzerland, could you be any more photogenic?! 😍

Then it was time to take our adventure to new heights, literally! 🚞 We boarded the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, climbing gradients of up to 48% on our way to the summit of Mount Pilatus at 6,982 feet high!

Between the dramatic Alpine scenery, breathtaking panoramic views, and a train ride that had us wondering whether we were going straight up into the clouds, it was an experience none of us will soon forget!

Five photographers, countless shutter clicks, and approximately a million reasons to fall in love with Switzerland. And we’re just getting started! ❤️

🇨🇭📸 Tonight we officially kicked off the Switzerland Photography Tour with a traditional Swiss dinner at a restaurant located in Zurich’s historic Old Town district.

After a year and a half of planning, countless hours of research, and probably a few questionable decisions involving logistics, I’m now responsible for FIVE brave souls who willingly signed up to follow me around the Swiss Alps with cameras! 😂

For the next several days, we’ll be chasing beautiful light, breathtaking landscapes, and that perfect shot that requires us to stop every 37 feet because “OMG, LOOK AT THAT VIEW!” 📸🤣

There will be mountains, lakes, charming villages, Swiss chocolate, lots of cheese, and enough photos to crash a few hard drives. And let’s not forget the inevitable question: “Are we there yet?”

Five guests. One fearless tour leader. Thousands of photo opportunities. And absolutely no guarantee that anyone will remember what day it is by the end of this adventure!

These two lovely ladies are the reason this Switzerland adventure is happening! 🇨🇭 Two years ago, we were running around Vermont chasing fall colors and taking photos. Apparently, they had so much fun that they decided one trip with me just wasn’t enough. 😂 So naturally, the next logical step was to drag me halfway around the world to do it all over again! 📸🍁

And here we are… Switzerland! Same crazy crew, different mountains, and a whole new level of shenanigans! ❤️😂

Now we’re just waiting for three more brave souls to join us. They have no idea what they’ve signed up for! 🤣🏔️

🇨🇭📸 Switzerland, here we come! Let the adventure begin!

I can hardly contain my excitement as I prepare to embark on a very special milestone—my very first international photography tour! 🥹✨🥳

After a year and a half of dreaming, researching, planning, and putting all the little details together, this adventure is finally becoming a reality! What once started as an idea (and request from two of my favorite past guests) is now just days away, and I couldn’t be more excited!

I’ll be exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland with five lucky guests, a wonderful mix of familiar faces who’ve traveled with me before and new clients joining the adventure for the first time!

From charming Swiss villages and majestic snowcapped peaks to turquoise lakes and unforgettable alpine sunsets, we’re about to experience some of the most spectacular scenery in the world—all through the lenses of our cameras! 🏔️📷🇨🇭

What makes this adventure even more meaningful is getting to share the experience with people who trusted me to create something truly memorable. After 18 months of preparation, seeing it all come together is incredibly rewarding!

Here’s to chasing the light, capturing magical moments, making new friendships, and creating memories that will last long after the cameras are packed away.

Switzerland, get ready for us! 🇨🇭❤️

Some days become memories you know you’ll hold onto forever. ❤️🍂

Today I had the privilege of taking 88-year-old Uncle Yee (ลุงยี) and 81-year-old Auntie Nita (ป้าอ่าง) into the mountains for a little leaf peeping and a chance to enjoy Colorado in all its fall glory.

What made today especially meaningful was knowing that Uncle Yee hadn’t been outside of Denver in more than 10 years. Watching him look out at the mountains, admire the brilliant fall colors, and simply enjoy being somewhere different was incredibly special. He thoroughly enjoyed his little tour, and seeing the happiness on his face made my heart so full. 🥹❤️

As we get older, I think we realize that time together is one of the greatest gifts we can give the people we love. It doesn’t have to be a grand adventure or someplace far away. Sometimes it’s simply a drive through the mountains, beautiful leaves outside the window, stories shared along the way, and being present with the people who matter.

At 88 and 81, Uncle Yee and Auntie Nita reminded me today that you’re never too old for a new adventure, and that it’s never too late to make another beautiful memory together.🍁🏔️❤️
