Fleeting By Design : IRREVERSIBLE

After a decade of silence, Atlanta’s Irreversible is back with Vessel — two tracks, forty minutes, and no reintroduction necessary.

We spoke with @irr1086 ahead of their record release show about the years in between, shaping Vessel from a distance, and what it means to return.

I drove down from CHI to ATL with boxes of Vessel records.
Walked into a packed room at the @badearl full of the kindest, most supportive people I've come across running this label.

@irr1086 means the world to me.
And somewhere along the way, I've finally learned how to enjoy a show while shooting it too.

I'm still recovering from it all.

This post comes a little late, but with the next announcements, you'll see why.

Irreversible have returned with their new LP, Vessel. Billy was kind enough to answer a few questions that I had about the record, the bands’ new period of activity, and even their collaboration with @videodrome_atl (my favorite place on earth).

The last two slides contain a review of Vessel, spoiler alert: I love it.

New Spotlight Section Alert! Film has been a large part of Irreversible’s music since the band formed 20 years ago and we’re stoked to spotlight the films that have inspired them with a special section to commemorate the release of their new album Vessel.

Irreversible’s first official release sampled exclusively from the 2002 Gaspar Noe film of the same name with album artwork that featured imagery from Kubrick’s 2001. Their later releases pulled from an even wider range of movie sources like cult favorite Begotten and more mainstream offerings like Guardians of the Galaxy.

Vessel, released 3/13, continues this practice. Scan the QR codes on the spotlight section to listen to the new songs, which feature the films on the corresponding shelves. Pick up theses titles for only $3/week for a limited time. #atl #irreversible #film taken in Videodrome by @irr1086
