Just sharing a simple pleasure of mine :~)

Now that I’m in the process of opening a yarn shop (!) I finally had a legit excuse to buy a nice wooden swift.

Sometimes when people ask me why I like textile crafts so much, I explain that I just like to look at and touch beautiful things for hours. To me these are beautiful things 😦

I bought all this yarn from a Vinted seller, I think she was just getting rid of a half finished project - I’m happy to continue the project for her 💜💞🧡 there is such an abundance of secondhand materials out there, I almost never buy new! With @wassowolle we are going to focus on smaller, more local and responsible yarn brands, the next best thing to secondhand 🙂‍↔️

This Friday, @rknittt and @isa.fau are showing off their hacked 1980s knitting machine and you’re invited to collaborate!

Send us or bring an image and we’ll knit it on the machine. The result of the demo will be one long scarf that connects one image to the next, like a collaborative film roll in wool 😯 Come around on Friday to see for yourself!

We are beyond excited to share that we’ve been offered a space on the cutest part of Weserstrasse, and we’re opening a YARN SHOP !!!

To celebrate we’re planning a very very very soft opening on Friday 3rd of July from 16:00-20:00. More details coming soon.

It’s gonna take a while to sort all the shop bits out, so in the mean time we’ll be using the space for (mostly textile related) workshops, meetups, yarn swaps, craft nights, or anything else our lovely community desires!

Celebrate with me!

I’m feeling so lucky to be a part of @obstundgemueseberlin - a collectively run shop & atelier in my favorite corner of Neukölln.

Sharing a lovely spot with lovely people, and having a workspace outside of my bedroom to focus on my knits has already changed my life so much in 3 months 🌱

I want to celebrate that with a little gathering! Come by on June 27th for drinks and music from @blancawhite and @vaunamusic 💿 check out my newest projects in person and meet the Obst & Gemüse Crew 😚

We’ll guide you through translating your drawings from pen and paper to knitted wool on our hacked 1980s machines.

How Much? €120 per person; €90 reduced price

The course includes all materials, plus some drinks & snacks. You’ll go home with 2 knitted works and a cool new experience!
