“The pain that you are feeling is nothing compared to the joy that’s coming.” — Romans 8:18 🤍

Yesterday, I found out that I have popliteal artery entrapment in both of my calves, a rare condition where the artery behind the knee is compressed and restricts blood flow to the lower legs. My freshman season is going to look a lot different than I imagined.

Since the season started, I’ve been playing through a lot of pain, and it has affected my ability to move freely and jump the way that Ive needed to. While struggling to move and perform, the training staff has worked tirelessly to help manage the pain and figure out what was going on.

As difficult as this news is, I’m grateful to finally have answers and, most importantly, a solution. Knowing what I’m dealing with now gives me a path forward, and I’m confident that I’ll come back healthier, stronger, and ready to do what I love.

To any athlete who feels like they’ve had one injury after another or just can’t seem to catch a break, keep going. You’re not alone. I’ve had those same feelings and thoughts. I know how hard it is to watch your plans change and wonder when it will finally be your turn again. You’re allowed to be frustrated. You’re allowed to be disappointed. But don’t forget who you are outside of your sport, and don’t let a setback define you.

I’m reminding myself that I don’t have to understand everything God is doing. I just have to trust Him. I may not understand why this is my path right now, but I know He sees the bigger picture when I can’t. This isn’t where I thought I’d be, but I’m encouraged knowing there is a solution and a road back.

I’m choosing to believe that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I don’t know what the next few months will look like, but I trust that God has a plan for me through all of it. I will bounce back.

I’m incredibly grateful for my amazing support systems I have helping me through this.

See you guys soon.🤍🏐
