This is the most uncomfortable, raw, and unfiltered song I’ve ever written. It was genuinely painful and scary to put this out to the world. For as long as I can remember, making music has been so much more than just something fun to do. It’s been a literal lifeline, and a place where I can fully let out my feelings without feeling judged or misunderstood. I hope my music can give you that same space too. This song has helped me process a lot of the depression I’ve been going through this year. One of the most difficult parts about writing this song was going back to this headspace and envisioning the things I would’ve missed had I left. when I played this song for my family, it was extremely emotional for me to see how they responded to it. My family is the most important thing to me, and it hurts like hell to even picture how they would’ve felt.

I think people shy away from topics like these a lot of the time, but there are millions and millions of people who feel this way and don’t feel heard, and I was one of them. This is actually the very first video we ever shot for Sorry For Leaving My Body, and I remember being unexpectedly overwhelmed with emotions. I was fine right before this, and as soon as the music started I couldn’t help but begin to cry. This song has the most meaning to me out of anything I’ve ever released. Because it’s so personal, I didn’t know how people would receive it, but you all have streamed it almost 600,000 times in just seven days. I honestly can’t even believe it. It feels surreal.
