I have been feeling deeply upset about the local and global issues that need our support. There are injustices happening right now to people in all of our communities. To name a few:

~ The genocide in Gaza - we are watching the violence unfold before our eyes as Palestinians are being massacred. It is disgusting that we are watching it in real time through the media and yet it is still not enough for many people to take action.

~ Climate change - we may not be feeling the effects in our community, but people in poor communities and developing countries are feeling the larger impacts of climate change’s effects. If not for our planet, we should take action for those who are losing their homes and lives because of the extreme effects taking place.

~ Our current president’s destructive actions and the hate that has been growing in our country:
• The ICE raids and massive deportations happening in our country and in our communities. Even if you aren’t affected, I guarantee that someone you know is. Families are being stripped apart, people are put in detention centers where they are mistreated and violated.

• Our government is slowly stripping people of their rights. Women, POC, immigrants, Indigenous people, lgbtq+ community. Everyone either is or will be affected if we continue on this path of reversing law and legislation that was put into place for the reason of protecting everyone and creating equal rights.

• The national guard troops being deployed in LA for protests against the current ICE raids. The violence that has occured due to peaceful protests is saddening. Donald Trump is abusing his power yet again. People in this country should have the right to freedom of speech. We are watching this being stripped away.

•The rise of antisemitism, racism, and hate. People are feeding off of hate, and creating more. This is not right. We should not fight hate with more hate.

These are just some broader examples, but there are many more injustices happening to innocent people everyday. We need to support them. We need to be a part of a collective positive change.
