“will i see you there?” by Isabel Dadulla

my very very late Senior BFA Dance Capstone post…

This idea was born from a summer of 3am dancing, crash outs at newark airport, immense dread for the future, watching challengers 3 times after it came out, and the urge to dance my problems away on a sweaty Berlin dance floor. My capstone explores community, adolescence, and escapism through the lens of club culture. I wanted to capture the feeling of the joy, bliss, and release that dancing with one another can bring. This process taught me so many lessons of trusting myself, learning how to pivot, and enjoying the journey. I am so grateful to my dancers/collaborators for being so open to this process with me and for their beautiful artistry. Shoutout to Liza for being the best research buddy out there. Thank you to my amazing lighting designer @abigail.serrao for your insanely awesome ideas and hard work. Thank you to my capstone mentor @gcasel for all of your feedback, wisdom, and guidance. Big thank you to Steph for making everything come together so beautifully.

I love art. I love dance. I love the club. I love the people around me. This capstone is my baby, and I can’t wait to see its growth. 🪩🪩🪩🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
