So much music, so many wonderful people, and so many adventures! From teaching music theory at California’s @muffin.music.inc M2 Festival to a seminar on timbre in Xi’an for the @spsvfestival. So proud of my student Caleb for winning 2nd place in his age division at the SPSV International Piano Competition!🥈🎹

And after the festivals, an unforgettable road trip through Gansu to explore some places I’ve dreamed of visiting for years - Tibetan mountains, monasteries, hiking, and some of the most spectacular scenery I’ve ever seen. by @isabelkeleti

Spring Recitals 2026🎹✨

Every recital, I say the same thing - it's so special for us as teachers, after years of performing together for our dear teachers, now watch our own students perform on stage 💗 we all know how much work it takes just to get to this step, and the spring recital especially reminds us of the year of progress. Congratulations to all the piano teachers and students 💐

So proud of all of our students, and especially proud of my graduating senior, who wants to continue lessons in college, and apparently wants to hear me continue to yell SLUR!!! STACCATO!! for many more years 😃

Doctoral Recital #1 is done!✔️

It’s hard to believe that only a year ago I was buried in audition prep, diagnostic exams, prescreening tapes, fellowship applications and interviews, unsure whether it would all be worth it. Last week, I completed my first doctoral recital, and I feel so happy and grateful to be throwing myself into dream projects that had been waiting on the back burner for a while.

My all-Martinů recital program was inspired by the concerts and lectures I attended at the Martinů Festival at Bard College last summer, where I found myself uncovering new layers of Bohuslav Martinů’s music yet again. His music feels endlessly imaginative and enigmatic, no matter how many times I return to it. It was a true joy to collaborate with dear friends Avery Morris (violin), Will Taylor (cello), and Nick Suminski (piano), whose newly composed piano reduction made it possible to perform Martinů’s rarely-performed double concerto H.342.

In the days following, my grandmother, Martha Helene Keleti, passed away. I grew up hearing her sing Slovak and Czech songs, and I’m proud to honor her by continuing to perform and share Czech and Slovak music traditions, one small way of keeping my paternal family heritage alive.

(Thank you to Adele Dusenbury for the beautiful recordings!) by @isabelkeleti

Our second Distinguished Travel Award Feature, Isabel Keleti!

Isabel’s Distinguished Travel Award will support an international concerto performance with an orchestra in Prague later this year.

Isabel Keleti is an award-winning pianist from Kansas based in New York City. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Stony Brook University, studying with Christina Dahl and Gilbert Kalish.

A Fulbright grantee, Isabel studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech Republic. She received the 2024 Gold Crystal Heart Award from the Czech Center New York for her contributions to Czech culture and was named a 2025 finalist for the prestigious Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans. Her performances have been featured on Kansas Public Radio and Czech Television. by @isabelkeleti

My 30 seconds of fame on Czech television 😅 Thank you to Mirek Konvalina for thinking of me and Dvořák’s “American Suite” for this feature tracing Czech art and culture to NYC!

Fun fact: the opening shot is the facade of the National Conservatory of Music of America in NYC, where Dvořák once taught the teachers of Copland, Gershwin, and Duke Ellington. taken in New York, New York by @isabelkeleti

It’s chamber music time! 🌙✨ Thank you to all who joined @isabelkeleti, @tomasjamnik, and myself for last night’s musical constellation as we celebrated rare gems of Czech music with @czechfulbright and @vaznyzajem!

It was a delight to share the songs of women composers Agnes Tyrrell, Julie Reisserová, and Vítězslava Kaprálová—some of which have not been heard in many decades—and to reconnect with the Fulbright team that has had such a deep and lasting impact on the artistic lives of all three of us.

I will take this moment to once again thank and honor the incredible Hana Rípková, who has been at the helm of Fulbright Czech Republic since its inception in 1991 and is now retiring after many years of impactful service.

I also urge my American friends and colleagues to join me in contacting their representatives (template link in my bio 👆) to help prevent devastating cuts to the Fulbright program by the current administration. With bilateral partnerships in 160 countries, and impacting nearly every academic field, @the_fulbright_program has been one of our nation’s strongest forces for soft diplomacy, international exchange, and defense of democracy globally for over 75 years. taken in Atrium Žižkov by @isabelkeleti
