Sometimes the biggest change starts with one question:

“Am I proud of what I’ve done so far?”

For me, the answer challenged me.

I had been given the opportunity to lead and build Leaders Connect Youth, but for months, the vision was just that—a vision.

Eventually, I realized that if I wanted something different for my future, I had to start doing something different in the present.

LC Youth is one of those changes.

We’re building a community where young people can grow in confidence, discover their purpose, develop as leaders, and create a future they’re proud of.

This is only the beginning.

Start small. Move bold.

Your reputation isn’t built in the moments when everyone is watching. It’s built in the small decisions you make when no one is there to applaud you.

John C. Maxwell said, “Your reputation is who people think you are. Your character is who you really are.”

Character. Integrity. Consistency. Discipline.

Keep your word. Hold yourself accountable. Show up when you don’t feel like it. Do the right thing even when you could get away with doing less.

Eventually, who you are in private becomes impossible to hide in public.

Build a reputation you don’t have to defend.

You don’t need more motivation. You need discipline.

Motivation comes and goes. Some days you’ll feel ready to work, and other days you won’t. Discipline is choosing to show up either way.

5 steps to build more discipline:

1. Start small — Pick one habit you can commit to every day. Consistency matters more than doing everything at once.
2. Stop waiting until you feel ready — Take action even when you don’t feel motivated.
3. Remove distractions — Make it harder to waste time and easier to focus on what actually matters.
4. Keep promises to yourself — When you say you’re going to do something, follow through. Build trust with yourself.
5. Remember what you’re building toward — Your daily choices are creating your future. Make sure they’re taking you where you want to go.

You won’t always feel motivated. Show up anyway.

You don’t need to have every answer before you begin. You just need enough courage to take the first step and enough discipline to keep learning along the way.

Failure isn’t always the end. Sometimes it’s simply feedback preparing you for the next attempt.
