First came the Faith.
Then came the Grind.
Now comes the J.D. ⚖️✨

… And that’s a wrap! God carried me through one of the most transformative seasons in my life. His grace is always sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9 💓

Statistically, I was never supposed to make it here.

Only 5% of lawyers in the U.S. are Black.
Only 2% are Black women.

And against every odd, here I stand! ⚖️🇭🇹✨

6 semesters. 1,000+ hours of studying. And a dream that started at 7 years old.

When God has a plan for your life, nothing can stop it from coming to fruition!

There were many days where I’d be at my mom’s hair salon after school, watching Judge Judy at 4PM religiously. That’s all it took. That little girl knew exactly what she was called to do.

As a 1st generation Haitian-American, failure was never an option in my household. The only choices I had were to succeed, or to succeed. That pressure shaped me then, and it drives me now as I stand on the edge of becoming the first lawyer in my family.

I’m in awe of everything God placed in my path to get me here. I’m grateful for my parents, who had the courage to leave everything they knew so that I could have everything I have. Their sacrifices were never taken for granted — I am the proof.

I walk into this new chapter with a full heart, deep gratitude, and my feet firmly planted.

She’s no longer little Annie. She’s no longer Ischtar.

She’s Maître Alerte — the newest lawyer in the room just arrived. 🖤✨

Stay tuned. You haven’t seen anything yet.

Ischtar Alerte, J.D. 🎓⚖️
