IDEOLOGY. FRAGMENTATION. ANCIENT WORLD. MODERN CIVILIZATION. REASSEMBLAGE.

In Unstable Narratives, we use the idea of the story to explore the way the world around us is constructed, to perceive, dissect, fragment fact from fiction, fiction from fact, as we and others assemble meaning, construct ideology, and order our lives. From ancient world to modern civilization, the ways in which we perceive the world have mattered. We systematically strategize the tides of information we receive, deconstruct and rebuild it in ways to help us navigate our surroundings, to make sense of it. The stories we tell and are told are important. They permeate and configure our society. They inform our decisions. Narratives are used to control and suppress, but narratives can also be manipulated and reversed, turned against the voice, to empower, liberate. Religion, science, literature, art, politics, even the idea of the ‘human’ are all stories we use to structure, guide and control.

The nature of our universe is ever/changing. Matter is mutable. New ideas occur. New narratives are born. Humankind continuously weaves new connections. If we want to change the way we understand the world, we need to start by changing the way we look and collectively engage with it, rewriting archaic narratives, reconstructing relations, and building shared languages at the periphery.
