Pride and Prejudice examines the subtle doctrine of human development. Pride obscures perception and prejudice obfuscates judgment, confirming humility is the road to the truth. Love, Austen concludes, does not emerge from blind passion, but from the conjunction of reason, respect and, moral awakening. Austen's satirist eye on social order exposes its frivolous nature; she confirms our moral worth lies in our character, rather than the happenstance of our birth claims or our financial standing. Happiness requires self-reflection, since without the contemplation or pursuit to confront one's own flaws, true love cannot exist. Relationships or commitments resulting from virtue last, relationships originating in vanity collapse. In short, the implications of the novel suggest that true freedom and fulfilment is found in the blending of passion with reason and heart with mind.

Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand...

#untouchable #bookstagram #bookreview by @ishikas.journal

Growing up is realising that the life you want requires a different relationship with yourself. ♡

Less explaining. Less comparing. Less waiting for the perfect moment.

More showing up for yourself, keeping the little promises, protecting your peace and learning to begin again without making it a big deal.

I'm not becoming a completely different person. I'm just learning to stop abandoning the person I want to become.

QOTD: What's one thing you've stopped doing to protect your peace or grow as a person?

Save this for your next little life reset. 🎀

Book Review - The S(H)indh Struggle by @lohitmatani.ips - @nikhilchandwani

Every community carries two histories: the one printed in textbooks and the one told across dinner tables. The S(H)indh Struggle belongs firmly to the second, and that is exactly why it matters.

Framed as a conversation with an old man in a busy bazaar, the book turns history into inheritance. You encounter the Indus Valley, centuries of upheaval, and the wound of Partition, but you also sense what it means to lose a homeland and still keep a way of being. The Sindhi story here isn't only about what was taken. It is about what travelled in the suitcase: a language, a trader's instinct, a stubborn adaptability that refused to harden into bitterness.

Beneath the narrative sits a quieter, more unsettling question: what remains of a people once the land is gone? The book's answer is uncomfortable. Memory survives only when someone chooses to carry it, and culture lives in the generation that bothers to ask, listen, and speak the mother tongue at home.

Forgetting never arrives with a dramatic event; it arrives quietly, one unspoken word at a time, until a heritage becomes a footnote.

Less a book to finish than a conversation to continue with your own elders.

Qotd: Have you ever read a book like this?

This 200-page book made me realise how much of our history lives in our elders, not in textbooks. 📖

The S(H)indh Struggle by Nikhil Chandwani and Lohit Matani is a book on Sindhi history, written as a conversation with an old man in a busy bazaar. It moves through the Indus Valley, Partition, migration, and the question that stays with you: what remains of a people when the land is gone?

Culture rarely disappears in a single moment. It fades when one generation stops asking and the next stops speaking the mother tongue. 🕊️

✨ Read it if you love: Indian history books, Partition stories, cultural heritage, and memoir-style storytelling.

Some stories stay with us long after we turn the last page. 🚀📖 Project Hail Mary is a beautiful reminder of friendship, sacrifice, survival, and the magic of human connection. Loved the movie too, but the book will always hold a universe of its own. 🤎✨
