Borrowing design ideas from history this afternoon. Before pockets were sewn into women’s clothing, tie-on pockets were worn beneath skirts and tied around the waist. Some of my favourite skirts don’t have pockets, and if I’m stomping around listening to a podcast, I like to have my phone in my pocket. Rustled this up from some @by_soren remnant wool left over from our button collaboration with a design that never made it into fruition. Lots of learnings for next time. And for those that are thinking “this is basically a bumbag, non?” - it’s a very valid point. by @isla_jane_heller

A paperweight I embroidered myself a while ago, inspired by @pollyannajohnsonceramics magnificent decorative plates. Sharing this having watched the Fighting Endometriosis documentary by @emmabarnett It was a smart, well-researched and heartbreaking. And while I am deliberately non-political here, @wesstreeting was embarassing. I’m sorry, but if you are being interviewed by a journalistic powerhouse, come to the table prepared. You don’t need to have all the answers, but have some ideas. Define the goal, do the reasearch, inform yourself, knowledge is power. And on that note, if you think you may have endo, keep a log of your symptoms, take it to your GP, and refuse to be fobbed off. If your period stops you doing your everyday activities, it’s not normal and you deserve to be heard. You are not hysterical x

When creatively blocked, I often look to those who inspire me. This magestic masked-lady, based on an illustration by @gduboisstudio got the fingers twitching and stitching. I love the whimsy and the elegance. Minnie asked me, “but why?” - why not my darling? A little of what you fancy does you good.

A meadow of primrose for @by_soren x @charlknits Always delighted to work with brilliant female-led British businesses that champion craft and independent artisans.
