Today is the grand opening of our latest project, Uchiko, in the Sunset Harbor district of Miami, FL! This was such a fun collaboration with @haihospitality and we are so excited to finally share it with the world.

We’ll be posting more of our design inspiration over the coming weeks, but if you find yourself in Miami, make sure to check it out! The food and hospitality are absolutely incredible. We hope you love it as much as we do <3

Pour a glass of wine and put on a little Duke Ellington, because we are in a sentimental mood.

Tomorrow, on February 7th, our project, Chleo; a restaurant and wine bar in Kingston, NY, officially opens her doors.

A few years ago we were lucky enough to meet Hope and Charles Mathews, a pioneering wife and husband team, at the beginning of a new chapter in their lives and on the journey of opening their first restaurant together.

The goal for Chleo was never to be any other restaurant. Chleo was an opportunity to challenge the status quo.

The foundation for Chleo was built upon creating a sustainable future, for the Earth and for ourselves. Reframing restaurant culture to reignite a passion and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Chleo is a place to remember what your senses are for and to just simply be.

The restaurant honors and champions the surrounding Kingston community through sourcing the highest quality ingredients Hudson Valley has to offer and using them in humble yet imaginative ways you’ve never seen before.

The relentless focus on locality goes a step further and can be found in the design through the stools, lightning, plateware, candles, millwork, ceramics and florals seen throughout the space.

Chleo shows us what’s possible and reminds those of us in hospitality why we got into this fiery weird business in the first place.

In Chleo you’ll find a new perspective, new friends and a third place to call your own.

We’re so proud of Hope and Charles and can’t wait to see this special place flourish through the seasons.

Tomorrow, @uchirestaurants DC opens in Washington’s Golden Triangle.

Our second collaboration with @haihospitality begins with a moment of quiet arrival.

The reception space was designed as a threshold, warm walnut paneling, softened light, geometric forms, and a restrained material palette that slowly separates the restaurant from the pace of the city outside.

Inspired by the rhythm and refinement of the neighborhood surrounding it, the experience unfolds gradually, intimate, cinematic, and quietly transportive.

Follow along as we continue to share each area of the restaurant in the days ahead.

Opening May 12 at 1700 M Street NW.

Out of almost 900 submissions, we’re excited to announce that our project Brass was named a finalist in the Event Space category for the 21st annual Hospitality Design Awards!

We can’t wait to celebrate with all the other nominees this May in Vegas!

At Uchi DC, even the most private spaces are part of the story.

Layered mirrors, glowing paper lanterns, saturated color, and walnut surfaces create an atmosphere that feels surreal, dreamlike, and cinematic.

Each bathroom becomes its own discovery, wrapped in vivid tones of green, red, blue, or orange, drawing guests deeper into the restaurant’s immersive universe.

Throughout the space, moments of concealment and surprise shape the experience, allowing every room to unfold like a scene within the larger narrative.

Opening tomorrow, May 12.
