🇹🇷 Bu işe ilk başladığım zamanlarda en çok yapmak istediğim projelerden bir tanesi İstanbul projesiydi. Sanıyorum ki tam o dönemde @leonardodalessandri ‘nin “Watchtower of Turkey” videosu çok viral olmuştu ve ben dahil bir çok filmmaker’ı etkisi altına almıştı. Geçen her sene 1-2 proje yaptım ama onlar sadece bir basamakmış. Bugün “The Capital Of The World “Istanbul” projesini yayınlamaktan gurur duyuyorum. Bu projenin en büyük destekçisi @nickrstic & @filmmkrs ‘a sonsuz teşekkürlerimi iletiyorum. Ayrıca özel teşekkürler @juliane.valentina , @neoliptus , @tayli.photo 🫶🏼 5 yıl sonra bu videoya da aynı şekilde bakıp “Bu da bir öncekiler gibi sadece tecrübeymiş potansiyelimi yansıtmıyormuş diyebilmek ümidiyle yola devam ediyorum 📈#ismailsaike #cinematography #filmmkrs
🇬🇧 When I first started this job, one of the projects I wanted to do the most was the Istanbul project. I think that at that time, @leonardodalessandri’s “Watchtower of Turkey” video went viral and influenced many filmmakers, including me. I did 1-2 projects each year, but they were just a step. Today I am proud to publish the “The Capital Of The World “Istanbul” project. I would like to express my endless thanks to @nickrstic & @filmmkrs, the biggest supporters of this project. Nasıl başladığını idrak etmeye çalışırken nasıl bittiğini sorgular olduğum bir seyahat özetine hoş geldiniz. Bu seyahati diğerlerinden ayıran özel bir yanı vardı çünkü hiçbir plan olmadan, beni neyin beklediğini düşünmeye bile fırsatım olmadan bir kaç gün içinde kendimi Senegal’e uçarken buldum. Tam dört günde Istanbul’dan başlayarak 16.000KM’den fazla yol katettik. Eller sıktık, göz göze geldik, birbirimize birer tebessüm kondurduk tabiki birde gönül köprüleri imar ettik. Kalp kazanmak bir sanattır, emektir ve bilinmeli ki ekilmeyen tarla biçilmez dedik. Bizi dirilten sese kulak verdik ve uyumadan köy köy devam ettik. Dünyanın neresinde olursam olayım ücra bir köye gittiğimde, bir çocuğun elini sıkmadan, gözlerim onun gözleriyle denk düşmeden kendimi onun yerine koymaya çalışırım “Köyüme bir adam geliyor elinde son model teknolojik cihazlar, giyimi farklı, ten rengi farklı, saçı farklı, dili farklı her şeyi farklı sanki zamanda yolculuk yapmışta köyüme ulaşmış” Beni ne kadar etkileyeceğini ve üzerimde ne denli tesir bırakacağını hayal ederim. Böyle düşündüğümde bu beni daha da sıcakkanlı davranmaya ve daha fazla çabalamaya iter. Çünkü bir çoğumuzunun doğduğu yerde hayatının sonuna kadar yaşadığını bilirim… “Bir çiçekle bahar olmaz ama her bahar bir çiçekle başlar” negatif hisler ve davranışlar bulaşıcı olduğunu gibi pozitif hisler ve davranışlar da bulaşıcıdır. Ekmeden, biçemeyiz önemli olan ne ektiğimizdir. Rüzgar ekersek kasırga biçeriz. İyilik ekersek sevgi, saygı ve sadakat biçeriz. Kalp kazanmak zor iştir bir sanattır uğruna fedakarlıklar yapmanı ister. Nasıl her gün güneş doğmaktan vazgeçmezse biz de denemekten vazgeçmeyeceğiz ve bize miras kalan yolu takip edeceğiz. Son olarak kendime/benliğime not düşmeden de geçemeyeceğim, geçemeyeceğim çünkü onun da hatırlaması gereken şeyler var. Böyle şeyler paylaşırken insanlardan bir tepki almak için mi yoksa samimi bir niyetle mi yaptığımı sorgulamak en nihai görevlerimden olduğunu bilmesini isterim. Başlangıç noktasını kaybedersek her şeyi kaybedebiliriz. Pergelin sivri ucunun doğru konumda olduğunu her zaman kontrol etmek gerekir yoksa bir bakmışız daire yanlış yörüngede seyrediyor…

Hayatta en saygı duyulası şeylerden biridir, bir erkeğin harama ve bir başkasının malına tamah etmeden kendi önündeki kaba bakarak helal kazanç götürmesi evine. Bir ömür bir meslek icra etmek ne de imkansız geliyor bugünlerde kulağa… Kimine göre aptallık, kimine göre ise korkaklık! Evet insan çabalamalı, çalışmalı, bahaneler ardında sığınmamalı sonra Allah’a güvenmeli fakat unutmamalı ki insan ne kadar çabalasada kendine yazılanın ötesine geçemez. Nerede haddi aştığını iyi tartmalı. Bazen çabalar dururuz fakat bir arpa boyu yol alamayız çünkü senin olmayana göz dikmişsindir, gözü dönmüş bir canavar gibi…
Bazı ideolojiler bizlere her şeye baş kaldırmanın ve her istediğini yapmanın özgürlük olduğunu dayattı durdu. İşte kırılma noktasıda tam da burası oldu. Bizlerse asıl özgürlüğün teslim olmaktan ve kanaatkar olmaktan geçtiğini unuttuk ve çırpındıkça çırpındık, çırpındıkça ilerleriz sandık fakat daha da battık, tıpkı ilerlediğini sanarak çarkta dönen hamsterlar gibi… Şimdilerde ise özgürlük naraları içinde neye gülüp neye kızacağımıza, hangi günde sevdiklerimize değer verip hangi günde yas tutacağımıza kadar her şeyimiz birileri tarafından tayin edilmiş durumda. Biz ise kendimize özgürüz diyoruz! Özgürüz diyoruz fakat altındayız gökkubbenin görünmez parmaklıkları ardında… ✍🏼 #ismailsaike by @ismailsaike

Everyone sees success, yet we all once started from somewhere, from the beginning!

This is Saike’s story ✍🏼 There were many moments when I felt like I was falling behind. I wanted to move faster. I wanted everything to happen immediately. I pushed myself over and over again, but most of the time I ended up disappointed

Then I realized that the endless struggle to reach my dreams faster was slowly consuming me. Sometimes, in order to move forward, you need to stop, reflect, and return to yourself. Only then does everything start to become clearer. Because in the end, you understand that everything depends on the perspective through which you look at things

Patience. Gratitude. Trusting the process. This is where the real journey begins

We try, and we learn. There is no such thing as failure only lessons. I owe so much to that curious child inside me who never lost the desire to learn. As they say, “The one who finds the sun does not mourn the loss of shadows” No matter how many different paths I took, I never truly drifted away from the one thing that made me lose track of time filmmaking

I never wanted to stay in the same place. I always protected my desire to grow and kept learning because I knew that every experience good or bad would shape me into the person I was meant to become

I made mistakes, and I fixed them. I made mistakes, and I got back up. I walked away but I always returned. Now, as I approach my 26th birthday, I realize I have spent more than a decade on this journey

We are often taught that we must be perfect. But I believe the opposite. Mistakes make us grow. Mistakes make us stronger. Mistakes teach us how to win. Most importantly they teach us how to be human

First and foremost, we are human after we filmmakers. Neither we nor our work can be reduced to numbers. The value of our lives and what we create should be defined by us not by others. Do not compare yourself or your work to someone else’s journey. Today may be their time, but tomorrow could be yours

“One flower does not make a spring, but every spring begins with a single flower”

Just start with small steps, spring will come..
