Apparently, not all Shuhailys are created equal. Some protect boundaries and take full responsibilities. Others seem to have spent years testing them. Same name, very different understanding of where the line is and what being accountable is all about. A step closer to Maybank Championship 2026. Partners Workshop today. A calm, well-organised day with everyone settled into their roles, working seamlessly together and keeping things moving smoothly. A good energy all around. Weather looks like it is cooperating, haze isn’t too bad although it could be better. The mood is sombre I guess, with the loss of Malaysia’s mother yesterday. For me at least. For her legacy, we can all do better together. Kinder. Respectful. Tolerant. Calm. Steady. Grounded. Better society. Better leaders. “She was the epitome of grace, quiet confidence and strength. She was always soft spoken. She did not need to shout or to speak loudly to be heard.

I remember her always being present with Tun Dr Mahathir. At ceramah, at events or in meeting rooms. She was there in support of him. That kind of commitment and covenant till they both turned 100 is too rare to find.

I will always remember her kindness. She was never quick to judge. She would ask about you and then listened closely for the answer. Her hand was always reaching out in conversations, assuring you and making you feel comfortable in her towering presence.”

Hyrox Friday 6.15am with Xian J. Training today was tough, but he made it feel possible with calm, clear and encouraging leadership. Funny how much harder people are willing to push when they feel respected and motivated. Sometimes the best leaders don’t need to raise their voice at all — they simply bring out the best in you. We were on video call with our girls in Canada. Keisya said - I’m going hiking to some Garibaldi Lake trail. Ashley said - Oh I’m also going hiking in Canmore this weekend. Remember to bring “bear spray” with you Keisya!

What?!?!!! What do you mean bear spray? Like for big mosquito spray?? Or for real actual bear??!! Yes, like bear spray for bears. 🐻 You mean there is a possibility that you will bump into bears on the trail? Is this like a normal conversation for Canadians going hiking or are you girls playing around?

I’m really not liking the lightness of this conversation. You can get killed by bears. They are deadly. Can’t you girls go to the mall or something? Do you always have to engage in activities that make mummy cannot sleep at night?

I mean, I’m happy to know my kids are living their best lives. At least no anxiety or depression or anything. But on the other hand, here is an anxious mummy in Malaysia everytime they say they’re going hiking!! by @ismaverick_

I do understand. From the outside, the optics can be seductive — the life, the love, the travel, the good man beside you. Especially when your own life may feel less than perfect, the grass on the other side can look beautifully green.

What stands today is only the beautiful part of the story. It is 29 years in the making. Beneath it lie the scars, the battles, the sacrifices, the sweat and tears — years of choosing, rebuilding, enduring, and staying when walking away would have been easier. Business and marriage intertwined yet work together perfectly.

So yes, I understand why someone might admire the view and even want a piece of it. Admiration is one thing. Entitlement is another.

You can admire it, you can respect it, you can even learn from it. But know the boundary.
