✨ Would you like to be a princess reading in a royal garden? ✨

I took this photo last year in the Quinta das Lágrimas.
In the centre of you'll find a 19th-century palace, that now operates as a luxury hotel, surrounded by gardens filled with exotic plant species, some of which are over 200 years old.
The Quinta das Lágrimas estate has been cited as the setting for the forbidden romance between King D. Pedro I and D. Inês de Castro in several of the finest pages of Portuguese literature.
One of the reasons I wanted to visit this place is because me name is also Ines 😊
The recently created Mediaeval Garden (the first of its kind in Portugal, in homage to the love story between Pedro and Inês) preserve a canal known as the "Cano dos Amores" (Canal of Love) where, according to legend, the waters transported love letters between the Estate and the Royal Palace. According to history, the same waters were turned red by the blood of D. Inês who was assassinated here and according to popular legend, the marks of her blood can still be seen on the rocks.
Halfway between reality and fiction, the gardens of the Quinta das Lágrimas estate maintain a romantic atmosphere that's well worth discovering.

While there I took a little break to read a bit in Wordslut by @amanda_montell 📖

Did you already know these things? If not, did you like this little history lesson? 😊 taken in Quinta das Lagrimas - Fonte dos Amores by @isolsworld

✨ Which book are you hoping to still finish this month? ✨

I recently started reading The Spanish Love Deception and I'm really hoping I can still finish that one, but I actually don't think that will be possible 🙈
My buddy read on Midnight Chronicles is also still on...
Sooo many books and so little time 😱😂

Let's go for another 350 😂 but seriously! I'm really really enjoying it! I wish for this book to be translated into English so hopefully even more people get to read it 😍

Fairyloot Unboxing: August YA Box 😍

My favourite item? (Besides the book duh!) Must be the Dust Charm! I've been wanting one for quite long and my first one being a Dagger is pretty cool 🤩
My favourite customisation of the book is the cover! It turned out amazing! And the blue? Love it!!
I am also very excited about the journal, even though tbe prettier they are the harder it usually is to start using them whoops 🤭

Klappentext:

Hello, I'm back ✨️

Apparently my two week bookstagram break accidentally became a two month break 🫣

But I'm back! I've actually been doing a bit of reading but also spending time with my other hobbies.
My reading room is almost finished and looking so cosy 😍 I love it!

I'm planning to take things a little easier this time and post around three times per week - reviews, current reads, book recommendations and all the usual bookish chaos 📖🤭

Tell me: what's a book you've read recently? 📖 by @isolsworld

📚 Shelfie Sunday while still waiting for my reading room to be finished

What are you currently reading? 📖

I am reading A Court this Cruel & Lovely, which I got in a "Blind Date with a book" and I am really enjoying it so far. Not even one third in, so I am really curious where the story will lead. It is actually really fun to go back to going into a book blind! by @isolsworld

✨️Shelfie Sunday Life Update✨️

It's been a while since I did a Sunday Life Update, but also since I posted, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity:

✨️Currently Reading✨️
I am currently reading and loving Daybreak (Book two of the Sorrowsond Duet). After that I will probably read Your Fault (buddy read). The book club book of the month is the love hypothesis, so I'll also be reading that. However that seems to be a lot of Romance so I might squeeze in a fantasy in there. But who knows... 🤔

✨️Currently Watching✨️
We finished the Queen's Gambit! What a fun small series! Made me want to learn chess, but also kinda not, it's intense haha 🤭

✨️Life Update✨️
I had 2 weeks off from work but omg they were buuuuzzzyyyy!! Plans and people every day certainly drained me. But it was also quite fun! Especially the Amsterdam trip with one of my besstieees 😍🤩 I filmed a little bit so there might be a little video coming soon ☺️ and lastly: My birthday is coming up this month so I am very excited for that! 🤩 by @isolsworld

✨️June Wrap-up✨️

It was a good and fun month! I joined some reading sessions, had some girls over for a creative afternoon and downloaded a new game! Finally got Tiny Book Shop and I LOVE IT! It's really easy to get lost in it for a while. I also got a few new books (whoops again). But one was the June book club book (which I also finished), Dire Bound will be for a fun buddy read with a friend. Hollow I got as a gift from my boyfriend and I am reeeeaalllyyy excited to read it!! 🤩 Shadow Reaper I am super excited for because I loved the Prison Healer series (but considering how the books always end on a cliffhanger I'm a bit nervous to read it, or rather: to finish it hahaha). And the last three were some great sale books at tkmaxx 🤩 perfect for Smut Summer hehehe
I also finished 2 books, which I am very happy with! by @isolsworld
