RICK REMENDER + ISOTOPE COMICS
25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2026
All-Ages Signing: 3–6 PM
21+ Afterparty: 7 PM
Isotope Comics, San Francisco

Coming back home to sign books and launch a permanent Giant Generator pop-up shop inside Isotope, featuring our full library of compendiums, oversized hardcovers, limited-edition giclée prints, old and rare single issues, signed posters, and tons of cool stuff out of my file copy closest you won’t find anywhere else.
-----
Twenty-five years ago, I was a dirt-poor writer/artist struggling to pay rent for the rotting garage I called home in the Sunset District of San Francisco.

When James Sime opened the Isotope comic book store down the street from me, it seemed fated by the rat god of punker nerds.

Isotope quickly became my home away from the black-mold dungeon I was living in. James and I would spend hours talking about old hardcore, new wave, post-punk, skating, and this strange business.

At a very uncertain time in my life, when there appeared to be little hope I’d feed myself, much less accomplish my dreams, Isotope gave me a home base and a safe harbor. James was always generous with encouragement and advice, not only supporting the books but throwing parties around them.

When you’re dead broke, working yourself to death while receiving very little positive feedback, something like this can encourage you to continue. In my case, it did.

As James and I were reminiscing a few months ago, it turned out that I was one of the creators featured at Isotope’s first-ever signing 25 years back, so we decided it would be nice to celebrate it.

If you’re in the region or feel like traveling to my favorite city, come hang out, we’d love to see you.

Come celebrate our 25th birthday anniversary with Rick Remender!

Rick is the writer of so many of the industry’s best comics (including THE SACRIFICERS, ESCAPE, BLACK SCIENCE, DEADLY CLASS, TOKYO GHOST, THE SEASONS) and the mad architect behind Image Comics’ GIANT GENERATOR imprint. And Rick was our first-ever featured guest 25 years ago.

What a great celebration of a wild quarter of a century!

Check out our Facebook post for full details (and a great walk down memory lane from Rick) link in comments.

Very exciting! Just got our hands on the first test printing of I’D SPEND MY LAST DAYS WITH YOU, Amelie Anderson’s apocalypse love story, that we will be debuting at our Free Comic Book Day 2026 event (this Saturday, May 2nd).

Can’t wait for you all to get to see this and get to meet this 11-year old comic creator!

Amelie really spreads her wings here, her first full-color comic, and we think you’ll all be as excited about her work as we are!

We will also have some 2nd printing copies of Amelie’s debut black and white comic SPEYEDER that we launched with her last fall. And some of her original art prints for sale too.

See you on May 2nd!
