ALTER SCAR

This project came about maybe around two years ago, from my love for tattoos and what they mean to me. There was something so beautiful about taking autonomy over my body through them.

I wanted to transfer that love and pain into something more tangible. We created handmade natural latex skins that could be worn like a second skin, giving tattoos another surface to live on.

So along came three tattoo artists, each with their own visual language, who put their own touch onto these skins and etched their own scars into them.

A project about tattoos, memory, pain and disguise, blurring the line between skin and clothing.
