Comparison is the thief of joy.

Looking at your life through the lens of comparison will steal, cheat and deprive you of the joy you should have while enduring your own process.

When we compare we say things like “I should be there too”, “I’m behind”, “How they get that?”, “I should have it by now too.” For the waiting woman…. “I should be pregnant by now.” or “I should be married by now.” 😮‍💨 Yea, I’ve said these myself. Guilty!!!

Truth is no two people walk the same exact path or arrive at the same exact destination, at the same exact time. You’re watching them when you should be watching you.

It’s ok to admire, it’s not ok to covet and if we’re not careful, comparison will lead us down a path to coveting which is an unhealthy desire to have what they have. You’ll end up being the one expressing a fake happiness for them to their face and secretly desiring what they have behind their backs, with no true understanding of what they endured to get where they are or have what they have.

Be careful not to allow the enemy to adjust your lens, forcing you to see something that’s not even in existence.

Hard seasons don’t mean less joy because joy isn’t predicated on what you physically see or possess. True joy makes you smile when you have no clue why you’re smiling and you can have this joy while waiting your turn.

How? Because Jesus is the source of our joy. Ro 15:13 May the God of all hope, fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him ❤️

Took a nap, woke up, tapped @iamsm00th on the shoulder and said 🗣️ “I want a burger!”….. to the store we go!!! And no, not beef 🙄 we do turkey over here and it was delicious!! #fyp #marriage #christiancouples #food by @issabranchthing

Can I be honest???? I was 🤏🏾 to saying “forget this baby shower!” Everything is so expensive 😩 It took us forever to find a venue b/c they’re so expensive. $1,500 at min for the day is crazy! I was baffled at the price quotes we were getting and I got to my breaking point! Threw my hands up and told Justin “we just won’t have it!” I’m so glad he’s compassionate and is learning when these pregnancy hormones are getting the best of me. He held me and let me cry it out, then assured me everything will be ok.

I’m thankful to God for @iamsm00th. I absolutely know we’re in this together, forever ❤️

Thank you @perrys_steakhouse for some good food! by @issabranchthing

Do pregnant women still cook? I believe the answer is 🗣️ YES!! Hubby left me alone for a few hours so instead of buying food I decided to step in the kitchen, get the pots out, and cook up some Lasagna Soup. Soup Season is in full effect and I’m here for it! #fyp #explorepage #cooking #pregnantover40 by @issabranchthing

My father, who’s been pastoring since I was born was recently invited to be the guest preacher at the very first church that he ever pastored. He pastored and served at New Rock Springs for 20 years, my brothers and I literally grew up there as children. To hear him share with them about our journey and how God has blessed us to become parents is priceless. #fyp #explorepage #pricelessmoments #pregnantover40 by @issabranchthing

Baby Branch 22 Week Update 😍

❤️ Today we went back to Fetal Maternal Medicine to check baby’s heart. Baby Branch was extremely active during the visit and showed the doctor just how strong the heart beat is. The heart is measuring accurately with the gestational age so the doctor was very pleased!

❤️ My appetite has been great the last few weeks 💪🏽
❤️ Sleep is becoming more and more uncomfortable 🥹
❤️ Everything is a chore 😂
❤️ I can absolutely tell I’m 41 and pregnant 😂😂😂
❤️ The days are counting down faster and slower at the same time 🤷🏾‍♀️😩 IYKYK
❤️ I’m still so overjoyed and thankful that God has brought us to this place 🤰🏽

I was sharing with a Sister in Christ how I had a moment last week. I said to myself “maybe I should pipe down.” Maybe my testimony is triggering some who have experienced trauma like miscarriage or stillbirth and I absolutely never want my testimony to be a trigger, only encouragement.

This is why community is so important. My Sister in Christ assured me that my testimony is certainly an encouragement. She shared some of her own experience and told me that what she sees God doing for us is giving her hope to believe that God will do it for her.

I’m not here to boast about myself but I’m certainly here to boast about my God! My soul makes her boast in the Lord!!!! If I keep quiet, someone may never know that God is able but if I shout it from the mountain top, a stranger just might learn of His goodness and miracle working power…… I’ll take that chance!

I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t keep quiet about what God has done, is doing, or will continue to do! If you’ve experienced trauma with pregnancy, you’re on my heart and I’m truly praying that God will send peace, joy and restoration in that area of your life. I encourage you today to keep believing God! He knows the pain and He cares about what you’re going through. Remember, trust in the Lord with all your heart ❤️ #fyp #pregnant #womenover40 by @issabranchthing

Let’s talk about this moment….

This was Pentecost Sunday and according to my calculations I got pregnant very close to this encounter.

My Pastor was ministering and began an altar call. The altar was packed so he asked all the preachers to begin helping and praying for those postured on the altar. I did with no hesitation as I always do, anointed my hands and began to pray with those crying out to be filled again.

Towards the end my Pastor called for women who were barren to come forth. This wasn’t the first time I had publicly stood in a prayer line and believed God for my womb to be opened. Once again my private prayer is met with public agreement, other believers who also believe that God is able and I approached this moment by faith again.

What was going through my mind????? “God you promised it and I believe it!” That was it! NOW let’s be clear, I hadn’t done anything special, what happened in that moment was God’s Sovereignty looked upon me and declared that it was my turn.

Here’s where I want to encourage every woman who’s yet waiting…. YOUR TURN IS COMING!! While you’re waiting, rejoice with others. Go to the baby showers, ask about how their pregnancy is going, celebrate with your friends who got married after you but got pregnant before you b/c your turn is coming and how you wait matters.

Trust me! I know that waiting is easier said than done. To many I got married late and now I’m behind again at 41 and only having my first child. Hear me clear, what’s late to you or to them is perfect time for God! The waiting is working for your good bookie! Keep waiting and let God work ❤️
