🌿 Adaptive Hiking at Hawthorne Park!

Our third-year DPT students participated in an adaptive hiking project in partnership with Grace Unlimited at Hawthorne Park! This experience gave students the opportunity to support accessibility and inclusion in outdoor recreation while helping individuals of all abilities participate in meaningful activities.

Yesterday, our 3rd-year DPT students brought physical therapy to the Boys & Girls Club! The kids tested their balance, showed off their vertical jumps, and got a hands-on look at what PTs do every day.

🚶‍♀️ Walking for Health kickoff!

Our DPT students had the opportunity to host the kickoff event for Walking for Health, a program designed to promote physical activity and wellness for individuals living with a neurological diagnosis. Students connected with community members, supported walking activities, and learned more about the importance of movement and exercise as part of neurologic health.

Neuro Clinic Day!

Last week, our 2nd-year DPT students put their Neuro II skills into practice during Neuro Clinic Day! Students worked alongside community partners with neurological conditions to practice evaluation skills, perform different neurological tests, and gain hands-on experience seeing how these findings can guide a patient evaluation.

Wheelchair Skills Day!💪🦽

This week, our grad 2’s put their skills to the test with hands-on wheelchair training! We practiced safe wheelchair transfers and navigating our environment.
