For this SLAG Saturday, we would like to recognize Peyton Merica!

Peyton recently competed in the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii where he delivered an outstanding performance on one of the biggest stages in endurance sports. He completed the race with a remarkable time of 9:11:56. Peyton demonstrated the discipline, determination, and perseverance that it takes to be among the best athlete’s in the world.

His race consisted of three demanding categories:

Swim: 1:00:42
Biking: 4:57:52
Running: 3:05:04

This is what he placed:
1st American | Men’s 18-24 Age Group
5th Overall | Men’s 18-24 Age Group

Finishing that high in his age group at the IRONMAN World Championship and earning the distinction of being the top American in his division is an incredible accomplishment and we could not be more proud of him.

Peyton embodies what it means to be a Scholar, Leader, Athlete, and Gentleman. He shows us what it looks like to have an unwavering commitment and to push yourself beyond your personal limits. We could all learn something from him. His dedication and his ability to compete at the highest levels should serve as inspiration to our entire brotherhood. We are proud to see him represent himself, Indiana State, and Pi Kappa Alpha on the world stage!

Congratulations Peyton, on this outstanding feat! We are so proud to call you our brother and can’t wait to see what you do next. Keep setting the standard and show everyone what dedication and hard work can accomplish by @isupike

What a great time to be a PIKE! From all the hard work behind the scenes to showing out when it matters, our chapter was able to come together and make this homecoming one to remember. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped whether it was with the construction of the float or just cheering for our brothers at trike and sync. These were the results for the week:

🥇 1st Place — Trike
🥈 2nd Place — Float Building
🥈 2nd Place — Sync
🏆 2nd Place Overall

We’re proud of what we were able to accomplish last week and grateful for everyone who put in the time, effort, and dedication. Once a Pike, always a Pike. by @isupike

A legacy that lives on.

The Pi Kappa Alpha Theta Omicron chapter was founded in 1979. The chapter has seen a lot of history and created a lot of memories. None of which would have happened without Edward A. Pease. He has overseen our chapter from the very first class in 1979, all the way to the most recent class.

We, Theta Omicron chapter, proudly dedicate our chapter room in honor of Edward A. Pease in recognition for his decades of hard work, leadership, and service to our chapter and Pi Kappa Alpha.

Ed has played an immeasurable role in shaping the brotherhood. His commitment to our chapter and the countless generations of men who have passed through it. He has left a long lasting legacy that will surely endure the years to come.

By dedicating our chapter room in his honor, we leave a little bit of that legacy with us and it will remain a part of our brotherhood for generations to come.

Thank you, Ed, for everything you have done for Theta Omicron. Truly, you are a blessing and this chapter and these men will always be grateful to be a part of your legacy, just as you will always be apart of ours. by @isupike

Pi Kappa Alpha Theta Omicron had the opportunity to compete once again in the homecoming trike race tradition. Theta Omicron had two teams competing against eight other teams. First team was able to bring home the gold, winning Theta Omicron’s 20th trike victory. Second team wasn’t far behind, placing 3rd. We are proud of the support our guys showed for our teams, and want to acknowledge all the grueling hours and hard work those who raced in the event put in.

Team 1: Owen Prater, Maddox Schnell, Elijah Jacobs, Miles Clapp, Kyler Sapp

Last Thursday, our brothers attended the Men’s Basketball Sponsor Reception at the Country Club of Terre Haute, followed by a golf outing the next day with Cole Marts, Riggs McDougalle, Brad Tekulve, and Isaac Grubbs representing our Theta Omicron chapter.

We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in the golf outing and are proud to be the only student organization at Indiana State University that provides financial sponsorships for Sycamore Athletics, building strong connections within our community! by @isupike
