This day was so dreamy.
The paper had been in touch with the Króna store headquarters to get permission for the photoshoot and they called the manager at the store at þorlákshöfn to let them know of us.
When we showed up we got such a warm greeting from the staff and manager that took so much pride in their work and the store they look after.
I got to choose the isle. I chose the most witchy isle with soups and spices but also my personal connection with Mexico and Asia.
Pasta is based🌾
The Ora peas in the can is sentimental for many Icelanders. It’s a must have with holiday meals. They also remind me of a dear friend in spirit.
Some notice the word play with Ora-cle. 🤓
After I chose the isle the manger and staff started to fix every shelf making it all aligned and perfect, they did it with so much thought and care like it was there art form to make it as pleasing to the eye as possible. To me it was equivalent to making a space blessed and sacred. It was satisfying to observe there perfection, also very meditative.
While I was putting things in the basket I ran into a young man working there that was pure radiance, he braked his cart on the spot and spoke like singing bells “ Omg you are beautiful you look like a queen “ ertu ekki að djóka ! “ “ I like wearing dresses too , it’s amazing “ We laughed and giggled so much, I was instantly in love with this human soul shine.
And that is the space I was in when this picture was taken. Thank you kind ones 🙏💖
The Icelanders that came through the store mostly acted like nothing was happening, a nice smile and nod and some compliments. The tourist just stared in shock that turned in shy waves and curiosity. I’m sure they have absolutely no idea what was going on, and I love that for them.
In a world that has felt so insane, dark and bleak moments like this are like seeds in the heart.
There is still so much love in the world and magic in human interaction.

My heart is full ❤️‍🔥 Thank you for this capture @woedans
I’m so grateful for the @sorceryfestival. Habba and Anna, all the helping hands, the people of Hólmavík, the guests and participants.
I had so much fun. I had the honour of facilitating the blòt with my dear friend Sigurboði, he gave me the opportunity to embody Freya and hold the space for blessings and sacrifice. I’m deeply honoured for the trust and for Freya.
I also got to perform my music and it turned into this cute Viking elf rave, we had an incredible time.
Then we closed the festival with a very powerful seidr ceremony, we do not allow pictures for that but it was very moving and cherished moments, a wonderful closing. I got to do all my favourite things with my favourite people. I enjoyed many fascinating lectures, so much mind nourishment I’m still talking in. Also want to give a shout to all the musicians, artists, Vikings. It was wonderful seeing all the new ink. You are all amazing. I’m feeling very blessed ☺️🙏

Völuspá is the “Prophecy of the Seeress”)
It is written in Iceland and preserved in the Poetic Edda.
It dates back to the 10th century, but the memory within it is infinite.
It’s a remembering of the past and future in the present.
It recounts the entire history of the Norse cosmos. The void, the first primordials, the first seed.
The stage is set for this experience….
When the völva remembers the gods, she is remembering us.
History is preserved in myths.
The völva gives us the script.
Creation- observation- inevitable destruction- recycle.
That is the nature of nature….seasons and cycles.
Then we have this most simple sage advice.
The past is a story, the present is a choice, the future is a dream but also a consequence of your choices. The future is in debt to your choices now.
Are we then making our own fate ?
Yes.
And no. Destiny is like an ocean all waters lead too. But your path there can change and your character is yours to mold.

With the full solar eclipse happening tomorrow and seen from Iceland it has me thinking of Völuspá.
The present day is in all ways right on que with the prophecy.
Even the part where Fenrir swallows the sun entirely.
This is an omen to me as a völva that remembers.
The light will go out and the beasts are unleashed, all the ones the gods try to imprison and suppress.
It’s a reckoning.

But we are already in the thick of it. For so many there worlds have already ended, we have already been suffering, brothers are fighting, woman abused, wealth and greed, corruption and wars.
We are in the tail end of the cycle and the new one is in our sights.
But we got a messy way to go and choices to be made.
To carry on we must tune back to earth and tend to our seeds.
I now align with the primordials and the ashes that nourish the earth.
The prophecy promises a new dawn.
It will happen.
I’m not worrying about an apocalypse. But I do mind that we have co created a very miserable world. It’s time to start over.

Many have asked me what I will do tomorrow?

I will obviously be with my mom on the shore line yelling and banging pots at Fenrir so the sun comes back.

The stars on my cheeks.
In our folk belief it is said that if you get baptism water in your eyes you won’t be able to see elves. My mom chose not to baptise me, she wanted me to make this choice myself. How I would see the world and if I even wanted religion in my life. The choice was always mine, and I chose and I kept on choosing to see and go beyond. She encouraged curiosity that I already had in me, so i chose not to choose a box, rather the whole mystery of the universe and really not question or brake my head with understanding such a infinite thing.
All I have to do is follow the spiral in my heart and what inspires me. Cultivating that has given me a very colourful life, full of love and deep connections. This does not always lead to fun stuff, it’s also braving through a hostile world. I choose to see deeply.
The tattoos are what I recognise as elf crosses. It symbolises the freedom my mother gave me and that I never lost the sight and that I don’t know what people would like to call it, but I choose to have my other foot with my elf nation. The indigenous spirits of this land. I choose to be human and do this life as well as I can.
We are tragically dramatic creatures but I’m on board for the love and wanderlust.

Slide 2. Hidden people genesis. The belief in the elves in Iceland is strong, respect and superstitions with the hidden people was never shaken off. Sometimes it was tried to funnel it through Christian stories to meet us half way.
In this genesis Eve hid her unbathed children from God when he came to visit Eden, God was like “ Eve you are lying and because of that I’m going to punish those children by making them invisible and live in rocks and hills and no human gets to see them unless they like you to see them.” The end.
This story never stuck as a belief, rather one of many fun explanations. It’s not the same as the genuine connection many of us have with the hidden world. And I’m glad that my mom did not take chances with the baptism water. 😅

Til hamingju með daginn sjómenn og fjölskyldur ⚓️
Today is fishermen day! It’s a big deal in Iceland. We are honouring our hero’s of the sea. ( men, woman and themsies )
This part of our culture has sustained us, and impacted us in the most profound ways. I can not speak of the weight of it without getting way to emotional. Those that know, know our joys and sorrows. I focus on the blessings.
Today I know my love is safer, I know he will come home. A home he and the ocean gave us. Providing me and the children with all we need to live a good and well fed life. Thank you fisherman, thank you ancestors, thank you Gunnar and his fleet and boat 🌸 Heill Njörður, Ægir, Rán og dætur þeirra, María hafsins, Erkiengill, Jesú, góði Guð og alla góða vætti sem við trúum á. by @isvold_

Something very disturbing was brought to my attention. And it’s so mind blowing how this came to be.
Sinister things tend to over complicate to keep us confused. But my spirits guide me in ways I don’t even realise until things are revealed. I might be naive but my spirits are not and I trust there protection and follow there lead.
Long story short I’m very outspoken about things and lately it’s been about what is developing in National socialism, white supremacy. White tribalism, people with this huge concern over white culture being under threat. And a huge bunch of them are appropriating Nordic culture in the most disturbing ways.
It’s crazy that these accounts on this app and elsewhere that promote this kind of propaganda out number the population of Iceland by thousands and thousands. But they lean in our language, culture, history and literature. And we here do not stand for that at all ! This is extremely upsetting.

Then I got a huge slap in the face. Someone was in touch with me because they saw me comment something clearly anti fascist and was in shock because they were under a different impression because a white suprematist that has a total different presence outside this app has tattooed on them a galdur symbol from me. Turns out that outside this app they are intensely racist and have a presence in severe racist groups.
This person fooled me and is now using my name to validate herself and she has the tattoo to prove it.
This is very upsetting but I hope they cover it and never speak my name again, because taking this from me and using my name in ways I would never approve is a self made curse. You screwed yourself over.
This has made me get sick of the internet. I’m not closing my account but I need to just be in my healing space for now. But I’m glad all this came forth before I do that. It was awful to be years in the dark about this. thank you again, you know who you are for bringing this to my attention. This definitely explains why I lost followers for a time, they thought I was one of the bad guys ! So tragic because I only want to be a safe space.

I only smoke when I pray.

Also been thinking about how much this world is under reacting to all the horrible things that have been happening.

We have been groomed by words like “ violence is never the answer “ while they simultaneously slaughter innocence and destroy our earth.

We are tone policed and taught to be “ socially acceptable and polite “ while they do monstrous things and we are groomed to do nothing.

Obey and play by the rules.

Some things are worth fighting for.
We need to choose to stand up to bullies.
Bullies count on us being “ good “ and not wanting to get in trouble.
We need to stop playing by there rules made to serve them and them being what ever current tyrants are with us during our time.
Most of the bad guys especially the world leaders and elites are immature fugly loosers.

I pray to see more courage in people.
I want to see people stomp their feet’s down on these anti light creeps. We need more hero energy. We can look to each other to cultivate that.

Otherwise I’ll be here smokin and prayin, disturbing some peoples peace as much as I can.
