First Semester 🥲

Oh wow, where do I even start!! If you didn’t know, I’m currently studying abroad in the motherland, Portugal, and I just finished my first semester of my Master’s!! This whole journey started on a whim (and with the push of some amazing mentors), when I decided to pursue further education. I knew I needed to get out of the States and way out of my comfort zone, and honestly… where better to study marine life than the south of Portugal am I right?! I came here with no family nearby, no friends, just me, myself, and I. I was so worried I’d struggle to build friendships and fully settle into my work, but my god was I wrong!! It was hard at first being here on my own, but as this semester comes to an end, I genuinely can’t wait to come back and be with my friends and almost pass all these classes together!! I’m forever grateful for this opportunity, for the hard work I put in during undergrad that allowed me to be here without worrying, for parents who support me every step of the way, and for everyone who believed in me when I didn’t. This Master’s is for you!!! taken in Algarve, Portugal by @isysoares

I learned a lot in 2024. I learned how to handle grief, how to love myself, and how to be confident in all that I do! I was able to lose 22lbs, presented research at 2 different conferences, and was able to expand my photography skills! This year kicked my ass but also picked me back up. There was a lot of people who made this year for me so special and to y’all I want to say a massive THANK YOU. This year was the worst and also the best, but I’m excited to start fresh! by @isysoares
