Gville standout! Italey May with Guntersville Volleyball is continuing the elite tradition within the program, while also continuing her strong play on the court after a 2025 season that was second-to-none for the now-defending 5A State Champions.

After winning MVP of their 2025 State Championship campaign at 5A, Italey is personally crushing it in 2026, with all of Guntersville Volleyball doing much of the same.

Guntersville is one of the top teams in the State at 4A this season, going 7-0 last week with a 5-0 sweep against excellent competition at the Eddie Preuitt Invitational from Hartselle High. This was followed by another victory versus Cherokee County tonight.

Over the tournament weekend, Italey totaled 70 Kills, 47 Digs, 5 Aces, and 7 Blocks.

They dropped their first set to Madison Academy, and won the rest of their sets over 5 matches. The run of competition included Madison Academy, Brewer and Madison County in pool play. This was followed by MA again in the Semis. They defeated hosting Hartselle in the finals, another team playing very well in 2026.

For her efforts, she is a nominee for 256 Athlete of the Week, Bracket 133.

Keep being great!
