I clock some serious mileage waking back to economy 😂

Really though- in my family we have always talked about “flying vacations”. Those trips that are too far ro reasonably drive to- or better yet, the ones that cross oceans.

I am happy to walk anywhere. But if that walk ends in a plane seat, you have made my day! 😎

Hi friends!!

What an amazing (and busy!) nine days…We have made our way from Savannah, GA to Washington, DC.

This was the perfect trip to do with a teen and a tween, they knew enough US history to have things they wanted to see in person, and they are old enough to have realistic conversations about our nations past. Plus- they were ready to be a little more adventurous!

We had so many singalongs, laughed until we cried, sometimes just cried…

I am a believer in making my children travel like adults. We go to museums, nice dinners and try things that challenge us. I think it builds character and will make them lifelong travelers.

But sometimes, we have wrap in something kid friendly.

It’s true, I have friends who wouldn’t be caught dead in an overpriced theme restaurant. But when my girls faces light up at the thought of being served dinner in a 250 year old tavern by people in period dress- how can I say no?

Things have been a little crazy lately…

We came out of the holidays full force, and now it’s almost Spring Break. How???

Last month, I left my very secure job after 5 years, and jumped into a much more exciting role, with a lot more opportunity. But let me tell you, it is also more work than I knew I was capable of. It has taken a lot of my focus, for sure.

Most of my weekends and evenings look like this… on my bed, with my laptop in my fuzzy socks. I only look up for kid events…

But, like I said… it’s almost Spring Break! And you know that means we are headed someplace 🤗

Friday morning, we leave on an East Coast roadtrip. Savannah to DC.

I am so excited!! I can’t wait to go somewhere new, hang out with my little fam, and unplug (well, slightly. The laptop is coming…)

I see those gorgeous themed Christmas trees on social too!
And, I have moments where I fantasize about how elegant our living room could be…

But, when our ornament crates come out, everything has a story. And my girls and I spend an afternoon remembering where we bought something, or talking about someone who fave us an heirloom.

I hope when they grow up, some of these same ornaments are on their own chaotic trees.
