My mother, Pamela Drews, passed away on 1.18.24.

Here is an excerpt from a eulogy I wrote for her funeral tomorrow. Life is wild and precious.

🌀She loved me and my sister more than anything in the entire world. That level of love she carried for us frequently brought her to tears. My mother showed me it’s okay to have emotions, and to let them move through. She showed me it’s okay to have some shadow behavior and still be the brightest light.

To say it wasn’t a challenge being Pam’s son would be a lie. But in retrospect, I celebrate everything we endured alone and together. We pushed each other to love one another even when it was difficult. She taught me how to love ferociously.

During this moment of celebrating her life, I’m left with a sea of memories of a truly remarkable and charismatic woman. My mother was human complexity in its finest expression. Thanks for bringing me onto this earth, Mom. I love you. taken in Saint Joseph, Michigan by @itallflows
