New Episode! "How Joey Varela Learned to Grieve, Let Go of Control, and Find Joy in Music Again on VRSTY's Icon"

This week, we're scratching The Itch to welcome back a friend: @joeytyl3r of @vrsty.nyc, who's about to drop his new album, icon.

A lot has happened since we last had Joey on the show three years ago. His life changed drastically. He lost his dog, some dear friends, and his desire to make music. He took on a different job and started going to therapy. And somewhere along the line, he learned to grieve in ways he never could before, accept things as they are, and have fun making music again. This is his story. Enjoy.

New Episode! "Riot Fest Interviews: GWAR, Teen Mortgage, and a First-Time Rioter!"

This week, we're scratching The Itch to break new, muddy ground! Aaron was on-site as official media at @riot_fest, and he came back with a trio of interviews and some shoes that may never be clean again!

Not only did he get to speak with a couple of Riot Fest artists, but the first ever in-person, on-camera guest in Itch history was a bloodthirsty alien with a chainsaw for an arm! @sawborg_destructo, Enemy of @gwar joined the show to prove that a bloodlust can never truly be satisfied.

Then, James and Ed of @TeenMortgage stop by to discuss DIY practices for new bands, top tier two-piece bands, and a t-shirt you wouldn't believe exists.

And finally, Aaron gets to do a "man on the street" interview... or at least a "man in a wet press chair" interview with his longtime friend and Day 3 camerawoman Jessica, who braved the weather for the love of the game.. and @alanis. Enjoy.

New Episode! "Riot Fest 2027 Wishlist"

This week, we're scratching The Itch for a bonus episode! Aaron already recorded a series of videos for our socials explaining his picks for @riot_fest 2027, so why not give them to the podcast audience as well?

Tune in to hear his picks for fresh faces, throwbacks, international acts, bands to bring back, album plays, odds and ends... and a few surprises. And then let us know who you'd add to next year's lineup. Enjoy.

New Episode! "Concert Catch-up: Riot Fest 2026, featuring Alanis Morissette, Twenty One Pilots, Tool, Rise Against, and more!"

This week, we're scratching The Itch to level up! For the first time, The Itch was official press at @riot_fest in Chicago. Aaron was on site seeing shows, interviewing bands, and trying to survive the elements. It was a trial by fire (or mud) as, for the first time, he stepped out from behind his Zoom screen and talked with artists in person, on camera, and on his own. Check in for his report on that experience, as well as the who's who of acts he got to see!

This year's fest had some big names at the top, including @twentyonepilots, @toolmusic, and @alanis, plus reunions like @theformat, regulars like @gwar, @therealicp, @badreligionband, and @_pennywise, and rising rock acts like @sincereengineer, @teen_mortgage, @vana_nz, and @asavaband. And of course, the debut of williamshatner's new metal band.

Who impressed the most? Why is @santigold the coolest person in the world? Did Aaron's shoes survive the muddiest day he's ever experienced? And what did we learn from going viral with a video of @anginedepoitrine? All of this and more in our 2026 Riot Fest recap! Enjoy.
