🇵🇱 Goldman Sachs didn’t open a Warsaw engineering center to save money. They went there for the engineers. 80,000 STEM grads a year. Math-first education. Real-time overlap with every major European market. Poland isn’t rising. It’s already there. Comment ITDS and get the full breakdown of what Polish engineers are building right now. 🇵🇱 #makeITbetter #nearshore #techhub #softwareengineering by @itds_official
« Ten years ago, ITDS was a handful of people and a conviction.   Last week I stood in an empty floor in the middle of Warsaw, ceilings open, cables hanging, dust on everything, holding the plans for the office we move into in January 2027.   And I thought about how we got here.   We started with a simple belief: that the best engineers in Europe were already here, and that companies did not need to look further than Poland to build serious technology. Not cheaper. Better. Faster. Closer.   For a long time that was an argument we had to make. Today it is the market.   Along the way we grew from one office to three countries. Warsaw, Lisbon, New York. From a small team to hundreds of specialists working on systems that banks, insurers, and healthcare companies actually run on. We were recognised by Forbes, the Financial Times, Great Place to Work. Those things are nice. What matters more is that people stay, grow, and bring their friends.   None of that happened because of a strategy deck. It happened because a lot of people chose to care about the work.   So standing on that construction site last week, the thing I felt was not pride in a building. It was the same thing I felt ten years ago. We are still early.   The new space is being built around how we actually work. Speed, quality, and autonomy, together, because any two without the third does not hold. Room for teams to own their outcomes. A place people want to come to.   January 2027. Same conviction, bigger room.   To everyone who built this with us, clients, consultants, and the ITDS team: thank you. The next ten years are the interesting part. » — Charles Gamba, CEO & FOUNDER, ITDS.   #makeITbetter by @itds_official
Some engineers can ship a full app with AI and still can’t tell you what SSH is. We screen software engineers every week at ITDS, across Poland and Portugal, and this is becoming common. No terminal. No bash. Sometimes no Git. Ask two questions about how their own project works, and it falls apart. Is AI changing what a software engineer is? I think yes. The role is splitting in two. Builders use AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to turn ideas into working products fast. MVPs, internal tools, prototypes. Plenty of companies need exactly this. Engineers understand what’s underneath. They can SSH into a server, read the logs, debug a failing deployment, review AI-generated code for security issues, and explain why the system is built the way it is. Both are valuable. The problem starts when companies hire one and expect the other. And juniors are caught in the middle. We’re asking them to produce more with AI, understand everything the AI wrote, and build deep skills, all at the same time. You can’t remove the learning and keep the expectations. Something breaks, usually the engineer. If you hire developers in 2026, decide which profile you need before you write the job description, and test for it in the interview. Two follow-up questions about their own code tell you more than any take-home task. Should “builder” be its own job title? Tell me below. by @itds_official
I walked into an IT company knowing absolutely nothing about IT. I don’t write code. I’d never heard half the acronyms in my first meeting. And for a few nights, a voice kept asking me: “What are you doing here?” Then I stood in front of this wall. More Passion. More Energy. More Footwork And I remembered who I am. I’m the guy who walked onto Shark Tank with his heart pounding and walked out with 200K USD. The guy who built a luxury brand from nothing. The guy who made a home in a new country 15 years ago, without a map. I didn’t know how to do any of that either. I figured it out. Every single time. Here’s what I’ve learned: fear doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong room. Usually it means you finally walked into the right one. So today, it’s official. I’m the new Growth Architect at @itds_official . Thank you, @charligmb, for believing in me before I’d proven anything here. I don’t take that lightly. I intend to repay it with results. I came for passion and energy. I’m staying for the footwork. 🧡 (And yes, the tie matching the wall was 100% intentional.) by @itds_official
If you can code and talk to a CFO, you might be sitting on one of the best-paid jobs in tech. It’s called Forward Deployed Engineer. Median total pay in Europe: close to $190,000. Job postings: up more than 1,000% in a year. We understand why better than most. When we rebuilt ITDS around AI over the last two years, the models were never the hard part. The hard part was sitting with every team, mapping how work really happened, and deciding where AI belonged and where it didn’t. That’s the job. Map. Cut. Build. Deploy. It takes two skill sets that almost never live in one person: real consulting ability and top-tier engineering. Which is exactly why companies struggle to hire it. Kamal Jahid breaks down what the role is, why it pays so much, and how to start practising it this week. Finding engineers who can do both is what we do every day in Poland and Portugal. If you’re trying to make AI land inside your company, let’s talk. #makeITbetter by @itds_official
A hedge fund just told us cost savings aren’t why they came to Poland. When Charles-Alexandre Gamba asked if their move was about budget, their answer was blunt: “If there’s an arbitrage, great. But we came for the ten best engineers we can’t find anywhere else.” That’s the whole nearshore conversation in two sentences. Most companies still sell it as a discount. The smart ones treat it as access. Your home market is already saturated, with the largest companies competing for the same engineers. Poland and Portugal open a second pool where the top 1% are still within reach. Cost is the bonus. Access is the reason. #IT #POLAND #ITDS by @itds_official
Episode 2 is up. 🎥 Ten months ago our team pushed back hard on AI. Every right to. Then we tested them. We said we were switching the agents off and going back to the old way. The answer came fast: “No. Don’t do it.” 😅 That flip didn’t happen because the tech was good. It happened because the people were. Big up to our team. They lived through the hard part. 🧡 #makeITbetter #ITDS #AI #teamculture by @itds_official
Some mornings just stay with you. 🦚 This one started at the Belvedere in Warsaw’s Royal Łazienki Park — where, before a single word was said about AI, we were greeted by the park’s famous peacocks strutting along the orangery windows in the autumn sun. One of them even showed up in white. Not a bad way to start a Wednesday. Inside, around one table: some of the people running the most recognisable companies in Poland. Our CEO, Charles-Alexandre Gamba, had 15 minutes to share how we’re actually putting AI to work at ITDS — not a deck full of promises, but the real version: what we tried, what worked, what didn’t, and how it moves actual numbers. But the part I keep thinking about is what came after. The questions. The honesty. Leaders who’ve built serious organisations, genuinely curious, comparing notes and challenging each other. No pitching — just people trying to make sense of this shift together. A huge thank you to François Nail and the entire CEO Round Table team for creating a space where that kind of conversation actually happens, and for the trust in letting us share our story. And to everyone who was in the room: thank you. A few of you asked to come and see how we do it, up close. The door is genuinely open — come visit ITDS, and let’s keep the conversation going. 10 years in, built from Poland — mornings like this are exactly why. 🇵🇱 by @itds_official
🇵🇱 Why Poland? It is the question our CEO gets asked more than any other, so it is where his new video series starts. Charles Gamba came here to study engineering for a single semester. He never left. His answer is not sentimental. Great culture, a serious work ethic, and one of the strongest engineering talent pools in the world. International companies worked this out years ago, which is why they keep opening engineering centres here rather than hiring somewhere else. New episode coming every week. Charles answers the questions he actually gets asked, properly, once. Drop your question in the comments and it might be the next one. #makeITbetter #Poland by @itds_official
🤖 The AI debate has the wrong villain. Everyone is arguing about whether models can be trusted. I sit in rooms where a different thing happens. A company approves an AI initiative, then quietly shelves it six months later. Not because of a safety review. Because nobody could be found to build it. Model access has never been more equal. Anyone can pull a good open model today. Which means the technology stopped being the advantage and people became it. And people are much harder to buy and much slower to fix. The companies winning this are not the ones with the best AI. They are the ones with the best engineers. by @itds_official
🇵🇱 Polish developers consistently rank among the world’s strongest in coding competitions, with Poland appearing ahead of the US in HackerRank’s Global Coding Index. And there’s another crazy statistic: The University of Warsaw has reached the ICPC World Finals for 32 consecutive years. That’s not a coincidence. Poland has built an incredibly strong technical talent pool, yet outside Poland, far too few people seem to realize just how good Polish developers are. And that’s the interesting part. Poland doesn’t always shout about what it’s good at. Sometimes the rest of the world has to discover it for themselves. 🇵🇱 Polish talent is seriously underrated. Do you think Poland gets enough recognition for its technology and engineering talent? 👇 Follow @warsaw_confidential for stories about the Poland the world is still discovering. by @itds_official
🇵🇱 Poland ranks above the US and India on HackerRank’s global coding index. Not a fluke. A pattern. The University of Warsaw has reached the ICPC World Finals 32 years running — the only school on earth to do it. If you’re still searching for senior engineers in the same two markets, you’re making it harder than it needs to be. #makeITbetter #nearshore #softwaredevelopment #hiring #Poland by @itds_official
