Steinbeck wrote a whole novel about the freedom to choose. Then he gave the character based on his ex wife no choice at all.

Part 1 of The Marriage Contract: three women, three answers to marriage.

Is Adam good if he never makes a decision? Is Cathy evil if she makes every one? I think Netflix’s East of Eden settles it with one word.

Team Adam or Team Cathy? Tell me below.

A look back at the private screening of Requirements on 4 September.

Directed by Caroline Hajny, written by Alexandra Tsarkova and produced by Alexandra Agoshkova, the film explores the realities of immigration, with striking cinematography, cohesive production design and a haunting score by Oscar Moose.

Requirements has been nominated for Best British Short Film at the Iris Prize, won Best Sci-Fi at Sunrise Festival and is an Oscar-qualifying film.

The film is set to air on Film4 before streaming on Channel 4 later this year.

I also had the opportunity to speak with production manager Anna Zizys and writer Alexandra Tsarkova. My conversation with Anna is out on Wednesday, followed by my interview with Alexandra on YouTube on Friday.

Off Campus was such an enjoyable watch. A good mix of romance, friendship, real emotions and character development.

I really enjoyed Not Suitable for Work.

Mindy Kaling does coming-of-age stories so well, and this gave me major New Girl vibes.

The characters, friendships, romance and chaos of figuring out your twenties all worked for me.

A Sunday at the theatre that reminded me how important it is to stay kind to ourselves.
Letters to my younger self was playful, heartfelt, vulnerable and honest.

I loved the contrast between young people’s worries, hopes and obsessions, and the perspective that comes with growing older.

Life is in the living. The good, the awkward, the disappointments, the triumphs and the hope.

And no one is only ever the worst or best thing they’ve ever done.

John Stewart’s biggest moment wasn’t getting the ring. It was giving it back.

Episode 5 changed everything.
