One of my garments from my Banano line:

Inspired by my Mayan roots: An homage to the resilience of a dispossessed community. I draw from the vibrant colors, intricate textures, and symbolic patterns of Guatemala's artisanal textiles, infusing them with manipulated embroidered silk to form striking, sustainable, and deconstructed silhouettes. Each piece a bold ode to the fierce beauty and unwavering spirit of Mayan women throughout exfiltration, guerrilla resistance and the aftermath of a 30 year genocide.

Thank you to my

Thank you to anyone that put us on your year end lists and who have reached out about how our music has affected you! since I was a kid, I only ever wanted to do music. It was just something I knew really deep within me that brought me a lot of joy. It means a lot to me when people enjoy anything I put out there! Thanks again taken in Chicago, Illinois by @its.gidge

Some more beautiful photos from the show @naplesartinstitute

After the show was over, my model’s boyfriend kept saying to her, “Wow! You look so good in that!”
It reminded me that even for this wearable art garment, I try to create designs that women will feel empowered, sexy, and beautiful in. It was a really nice little moment for me. taken in The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón by @its.gidge

My Chemical Romance was the first band of my time I fell in love with. I was in middle school, playing Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge on my walkman anytime I felt anxious. By high school, I was jumping on my bed, singing into a hairbrush like I was on stage.

I once saw an interview where Mikey and Gerard said they decided to start a band after seeing Smashing Pumpkins at MSG—that feeling of “that’ll be us one day.” That’s exactly how I felt watching MCR. My mom always said, “I’ll take you to shows because music is important,” and she did. From age 13 on, she drove me to every MCR concert—Chicago, Indiana, Wisconsin—hanging back while my friends and I fought our way through the pit to the front. After one show, I turned to her and said, “That’s going to be me one day.” I even climbed on stage once in Indiana to hand Gerard a letter during Helena because that’s the song they always closed with.

We used to joke that I’d cry all the way home after their concerts because I never wanted them to end. Over the years, I set their music down like a childhood toy and didn’t listen for almost a decade. But when Gerard sang the first note at the show Friday, I broke down—sobbing like one of those Beatles documentaries. I was surprised by how much it hit me. As an adult, I’ve trained myself to suppress emotion, to not feel too much, be too much. But that night was a wave of nostalgia, melancholy, and a poignant longing of the person I was before the world tried to turn me into someone else.

Anyway—I love them. And I made this jacket the night before the show, which I think turned out pretty cool. taken in Soldier Field by @its.gidge

So i remember a decade ago I watched a documentary about Bikini Kill and how much zines were part of the punk scene. I wanted to be a part of that world so much but could never find it! Now I’m a part of this zine about sustainability with a lot of cool young hip kids (who make me feel old 🥲🥴)/ avant fashion collective @ab.er.rant_ in my stories you can find the digital version but I will have hard copies if anyone is interested. There’s poetry, art, and what I wrote has some facts about the fashion industry and sustainability and how both consumers and small brands can be more sustainable. If you’re interested comment or message me and I can give/send you a copy. You’ll have to pay for shipping but we are just asking for donations otherwise to help out the collective which is very immersed in the Chicago and Chicagoland communities.
We are about to print so let me know if you want one so we can print a few more!
