What’s for me was never meant to be easy, but I saw it through and I never quit.

To my sisters,
From the very beginning, we were doubted simply because they couldn’t be us. But what’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. We stood ten toes, handed business, and became something undeniable.

To my MIT,
“Reevey”… hearing my name EVERYDAY, being pushed past limits I didn’t even know I had it changed me.
Every moment, every lesson, every correction… I needed it, even when it hurt.
A special shoutout to @amour.mtd and @theylovekaaay._ y’all held me down in ways I’ll never forget. Thank you for seeing something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. I came into this process lost, fighting battles nobody knew about… but y’all helped me find my strength. ❤️

We are thrilled to celebrate Shonnel Reevey, who has officially crossed into the sisterhood of the Delta Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A powerhouse leader on campus, Shonnel continues to represent Albany State University with exceptional poise, dedication, and a heart for service.

A GOLDEN RAM STANDOUT. Shonnel is a dedicated student leader who has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the student body at ASU. Currently serving as the Junior Class President, she has worked tirelessly to advocate for her peers, drive campus engagement, and lead the Class of 2027 with vision and excellence.

A NEW CHAPTER OF SERVICE. Joining the Delta Rho Chapter marks a monumental milestone in her collegiate journey. As a Spring ’26 initiate of the Delta Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, she now proudly embodies the core principles of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. The official SGA Junior Class Executive Board for the 2024–26 school year

1 Samuel 2:8 (NIV):
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.”

From having no direction to now walking in answered prayers, I’m proof that God can lift you from the bottom and place you into greatness. I’m thankful for both the open and closed doors, because each one shaped who I am today.

Last year as Sophomore Class President was one of the hardest seasons of my life. People saw the flame, the polished outfits, and the smile but what they didn’t see were the nights I questioned my abilities, the moments I felt overlooked, and the times I wondered if I was even meant for leadership. Truth is, I almost gave up.

But God. 🙌🏽

Today, I step into Junior Class President not as the same girl I was last year, but as a woman renewed, rebranded, and ready. My story is no longer about struggle it’s about strength. It’s about walking boldly in what God has called me to do, and showing that pain can truly birth power. by @its.shonnel

I’m Shonnel Reevey, a Mass Communication major with a passion for advocacy, creativity, and student engagement. As your current Sophomore Class President, I’ve worked hard to represent and uplift our student body, and now I’m ready to take it a step further by running for Junior Class President!

Why Me, you may ask?

I’m not just running for a title. I’m running to continue the work that matters. Over the past year, I’ve been hands-on in addressing student concerns, bringing fresh ideas to the table, and making sure our voices are heard. I believe in real solutions, real action, and real impact.
