🔥NEW CLASS!! Latin Fusion with Renee Menard🚨

Wednesdays at 6:45 PM • All Levels, Beginner Friendly!
Starts October 21st!

Shake it. Sweat it. Feel the rhythm.

Get ready for an hour of high-energy movement inspired by the vibrant rhythms of Latin and global dance.

Latin Fusion brings together influences from Samba, Salsa, Reggaeton, Soca, Dancehall, and more for a joyful, sweaty dance experience that will have you moving your whole body and smiling from the inside out.

We’ll warm up, learn accessible movement and choreography, turn up the music, and let the rhythm carry us. No partner needed, and no dance experience required—just bring your willingness to move, play, and have a good time.

Come for the cardio. Stay for the music, the movement, and the joy.

All levels welcome. Come dance like nobody’s watching!

Greetings party people!!! 🌍🔥

We’re officially down to the FINAL THREE events of our 2026 Afrobeats Nite outdoor season, and we’re determined to make every one of them count!

For this Thursday’s Nite, I’m pleased to welcome a longtime friend of the event and the organizer of another beloved Santa Cruz community dance party, Salsa by the Sea—DJ @its_dancing_time_!!! 💃🏽🕺🏾

And while he’s been a friend of Afrobeats Nite for years, this will be his FIRST TIME spinning for us!!!

If you’ve been to Salsa by the Sea, you already know how this deejay gets down! And if you haven’t, well, Thursday is your opportunity to find out!

Following the opening set, resident DJ Monk Earl (@djmonkearl) will take over the decks with sounds from across Africa and the diaspora to close out the evening! 🔊🔥

Pull up early. Grab some food and drinks from the good folks at @abbottsquaremarket. Mingle. Dance. Be in community!

🕡 6:30pm–10pm

This is how a festival is born — one night at a time, with the people who actually dance here.

We’re preparing something epic and memorable for our dancing community. Not a throwaway social. A first chapter. The kind of night you still talk about in the parking lot and on the ride home.

Important: we’re dancing on one of the smoothest, best dance floors in Santa Cruz. Dance shoes or comfortable socks are encouraged so everyone can feel good and stay safe on the floor.

Warm up the floor with Jim & Jess
Bachata Workshop · 5:00–6:00 PM
An easy, welcoming hour to get the body moving, feel the music, and settle into the night together. No pressure — just good energy and good company.

Then the social: salsa and bachata shared fairly, mixed levels, open floor. Three DJs who know this community — DJ Bongo, DJ Jaguar, and DJ ItsDancingTime — spinning Bachata, Mambo, Rumba, Guaguancó, and Cha Cha Chá until 10 PM.

Salty air, warm people, and room to dance. Beginners welcome. Seasoned dancers welcome. Come for the class, stay for the floor, leave with new friends.

Every dollar from these Warm-Up nights goes toward the first Santa Cruz Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba Festival next year.

Help shape the night — suggest DJs and add your favorite bachata songs:

See you on the floor.
With rhythm,
DJ Omambo
