Meet the Miso Chocolate Chip Cookie 🍪🤎

Flourless and made with creamy almond butter, these cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with chocolate chips. The miso adds a subtle salty depth that brings out those warm caramel-like notes and balances all that chocolatey goodness.

My daughter’s description might be the best one yet: “It’s like candy!” 😂 She says the chewy texture and caramel flavor make it taste like a cookie and candy all in one.

I’m feeling incredibly grateful as It’s ScratchMade reaches this milestone. 🤎 What started simply as my love for baking and sharing something homemade has grown into so much more than I ever expected.

Of course, I’m thankful for every order, follow, like, share, recommendation, and word of encouragement—but one of the greatest gifts has been the people I’ve met along the way. Some started as customers or fellow bakers and, over the years, have become wonderful friends. Those friendships, conversations, connections, and moments of support have made this journey even more meaningful.

To everyone who joined us for the 2026 Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission Bon Dance—**thank you from the bottom of our hearts!** 💜

Whether you danced around the yagura, enjoyed delicious food, visited our vendors, volunteered your time, reunited with old friends, or simply came to be part of the community, you helped make this year's Bon Dance truly special.

Bon Dance is more than a summer tradition—it is a time to remember those who came before us, reconnect with one another, and celebrate the spirit of community that makes Hawaiʻi so unique. Seeing generations of families, friends, and neighbors gathering together filled our temple grounds with joy, laughter, and aloha.

A special mahalo to our volunteers, temple members, performers, vendors, donors, and community partners whose hard work made this event possible. We are grateful for every helping hand and every smiling face.

As the lanterns are packed away and the music fades for another year, the memories and connections made over these two nights will remain with us.
