I could never thank these people enough for getting me through 29. They fed me when I couldn’t eat. They called me when I couldn’t reach out myself. They sat with me while I cried on the bathroom floor. They patiently waited for me to make my own choices, which I can only imagine was impossibly difficult to watch. They kept loving me at my very ugliest and I will never, ever get over it.

And what’s absolutely mind blowing is that this isn’t even everyone. It wouldn’t even let me tag all of the people in here because there are so many and there are many more of you, too, that aren’t captured here. Thank you.

I officiated. I laughed. I cried my eyes out. But mostly, I danced til my feet hurt and sang til my voice gave out. It was the best. 🥂 to T+N 💜

deep in my memory box, I find hello kitty notepads that Meagan handed down to me when she was done with them; a journal with her writing on the first ten pages and my writing on the next ten; a page from my scrapbook dedicated to her because she was my favorite cousin in fifth grade (sorry to all my other cousins 😬).

closer to the top floats a letter from her first time in rehab. she would keep going back because she never gave up the fight. I’m really, really sick of addiction’s impact in our lives, but as her sister put it so well, Meagan will be remembered for her best days and our fondest memories with her.

I’ll remember the three @taylorswift concerts I saw with her, teaching ourselves Taylor songs on our grandmother’s piano at Christmas, and the way she loved animals even more than I do (which is not something I admit lightly). I can still hear her giggle though I haven’t really heard it in years.
