Turns out my favorite part of hosting events isn’t actually the event itself — it’s watching people connect because of it 🥹

New friendships, new relationships, new memories, or even just a really good conversation with someone you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

That’s why I started It’s A Date Events 🤍 Creating fun things to do is only half of it. Creating the opportunity for real connection is the whole point.

6 months of building my own event company 🥹 and probably 6,000 lessons learned along the way lol

I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but these are 6 things I wish I could’ve told myself when I was overthinking whether or not to just START.

Building something of your own is scary, exciting, humbling and so rewarding all at the same time. Here’s to learning as I go 🫶🏼

Welcome to The Hosting Club 🎀🥂

A new little series where I’m sharing all the things I’ve learned as an event planner about throwing a really good party.

Hosting Tip #01: Never make mingling the activity.

Give your guests something to do especially when they first arrive. An interactive drink station, conversation cards, a Polaroid guest book, a little game, a voting board… literally anything that gives people a reason to interact without having to walk up to a stranger and say, “So… how do you know the host?”

The best parties don’t force connection. They create opportunities for it.
