1 Kid, $75 and a City full of thrift shops…featuring @itsawesomeava! Ava spent the day shopping and talking all things thrift with @kristenvbateman.

We spent the afternoon checking out some of our favorite second hand haunts in Chelsea to put together this look. My baby @itsawesomeava turned 17 today. My minis are no longer so mini.

I’ve been a little MIA so I never posted Ella’s 19th last month, or Akiva’s 21st earlier this week—and sometime soon I’ll catch you all up on my medical saga.

These were taken a few months ago when Ava got her first curly cut at @ouidad. Ella has been hair modeling with me for years…and now Ava has officially entered the chat.

Anyway, happiest of birthdays to my not-so-mini Ava. May you never lose your boisterous energy and joy for life. Wishing you an endless supply of Diet Coke (her one true love) IYKYK 😘

Happy holidays & happy last night of Chanukah! We celebrated with a family pajama party so we broke out last year’s Target PJs that I may have scored for next to nothing. Actually, I think they rang up item not found and the cashier gave them to me for $1 per set 💙

I took a bunch more of the minis on my G7X but the battery died and this was pretty much all I had on my phone.

I have a few weeks of unedited photos backlogged but I’m still recovering from the flu and other not-so-fun health setbacks that I’ll share soon 😘

Stay safe out there and get a flu shot if you can. I haven’t been that sick in years. It was brutal. Akiva had to take multiple finals while recovering. Luckily my husband got one as was spared.

@heyrowan just opened at @americandream and my minis couldn’t have been more excited!

My girls have been begging for more ear piercings—Ava was very jealous of Ella’s ear stack…and Ella simply wanted more :)

As a mom, I love that all piercings at Rowan are done by licences nurses and all earrings are hypoallergenic. The staff was so friendly and kind! They helped us select the perfect earrings, the perfect placement for their stacks, and cheered them on from start to finish. A+++ recommendation!

Happy 4th of July! 🧨

For the ultimate flashback Friday I found these unshared shots with family from our last visit to Lady Liberty in July 2022. I can’t believe how much my kids have grown in just three years.

Every time I see the Statue of Liberty I think about how it must have felt for my grandparents to see her for the first time after surviving the unimaginable.

As the daughter of an immigrant (my mom was a barely a month old when she arrived) I think about how grateful I am to be in this imperfect county that provided refuge and freedom for so many of us.

Got our nosh on @lidokosherdeli with the perfect post-beach bites 💙

Our favorites included the Meshugana (brisket with mashed potato on a scooped out garlic bread and a side of gravy), Wally’s Famous Knishwich (square knish stuffed with pastrami or corned beef) and the Rodeo Burger (topped with onion rings & BBQ sauce and a side of fries).

Lido Kosher Deli is an authentic NY style deli with indoor and outdoor seating just steps away from the beach. For my kosher friends, maybe call ahead as I just noticed their teudah (kashrut certificate) is expired on their website and I’m hoping they just forgot to upload the new one—and you may want to see if the hechsher works for you.

Kosher Korean food? Yes, please @seoulbiteteaneck.

Food was good but they definitely have some kinks to work out. Wings were excellent (wish they had a dipping sauce, at least for the plain ones) and we loved trying our very first Bibimbap & Bulgogi Dupbap.

Just be aware that spicy is very spicy there, and the only skip was the miso soup that was just murky salty water. Would have also liked to see a better ratio of toppings to rice for the bowls.

Please note that It’s more of a take-out than sit down spot because seats are limited. They also need to work out their air conditioning for this excessively warm summer.

That said, we’d definitely give it another go—Tteokbokki & Jap-chae Dupbap are next on our list to try.

Happy Mother’s day to all the moms and future moms out there! Kicked off our celebration early this year with @sunglasshut who invited us to select some new sunnies at the SoHo store as a #mothersdaygift 😎

Mini-me, Ella, who is actually my middle child is away travelling so I came with big & little in tow. Keva & Ava are actually pretty close but it could be because their birthdays are literally two days (but four years) apart. Their names are also a little too similar and when I scream for them to come downstairs they usually ask which one I was calling for lol.

Also, I took my @canonusa G7X Mark III out for a spin and shot on Manual for the first time. I’m not loving that I went warmer with the white balance and maybe I didn’t need the flash the whole time, but otherwise my setting were: 0 exposure, 1/125, F 3.5 & ISO 400. If you’re a photographer (pro or amateur) & have any tips please feel free to share below 😘

Photo comparison: Canon G7X Mark III vs. iPhone 13 Pro Max 📸

Just wanted to share my first impressions and the difference between my new @canonusa G7X and my 13 Pro Max with the same light edit in @lightroom mobile. The first three shots were taken with the Canon point-and-shoot and the last two were taken with my @apple iPhone.

I always prefer to shoot in bright daylight but the sun was hiding a little when I shot with my Canon. You can see a lot more detail with the Canon and I’m sure it will only get better once I play around with it. I’m thinking I may pull out my old DSLRs (also Canon) to compare because I remember loving the images even more (could be the prime lenses) but hated the bulk.

Yes, my iPhone is older but I honestly I haven’t upgraded because I didn’t notice that much of a difference for photos with the newer phones. I hate how cartoony my face looks if I shoot in less than ideal conditions—which is why I decided to try cameras again.

My last point-and-shoot I purchased was easily 20 years ago. It was a Panasonic LUMIX that I loved until the battery door fell off and the lens got stuck in an open position. Hoping to not have those issues with my new camera :)

I still have to test out my DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Will keep you updated…

Anyone else get a new camera recently hoping to beat all the crazy tariff increases?

A week late, but happiest sweet 16th birthday to my youngest, Ava 🌸

This was one of my first shots with my new @canonusa G7X Mark III. I’m still playing around with the settings so for now it’s not much of an improvement over my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ll share comparisons pics soon.

Basically she’s a big ball of chaos, energy and joy in oversized sweats & T-shirts. Her room may be the messiest, and her late night kitchen experiments may not always be successful, but @itsawesomeava is probably my most empathetic child. I love her kindness, creativity and drive (she has three pieces on display in her school art show today) and I’m so proud of her evolution into the beautiful young woman she is today.

Love you Av. I still owe you a real birthday picture. For now this one is from our recent Passover road trip to Baltimore will have to do 😘
