I rarely share the moments I’ve captured at weddings, and honestly that might just be because of these days aren’t about me, it’s about the couples. I will say that when it comes to these days so far elopements are my favorites and my only real focus in this area of photography. It’s so honest, so peaceful, and genuinely about the love of the two people in that moment. With that being said of the 30 or so weddings I’ve had the opportunity to photograph these are some of my favorite moments. Learn to admire someone’s shine without falling into the fallacy that you are dim in comparison The last year has been a roller coaster, I’m sure a lot of you could also say the same. As one year of my life wraps up and another begins this Sunday. I’m focused on completing some goals and opening some doors for myself so I can finally stand on my own two feet again. My hope is to get back into the full swing of booking and working after basically taking most of last off because of my health. If you are in Fl, GA, TN, AL hit me I running some mini sessions for the month of March and anyone who books and sends in their deposit before the end of the week will be locked in for their session for any time between now and the end of the year. There is a lot to be thankful for as this year comes to an end chief among them that I made it to the end, and that I’ve begun to make some good friends who have been a support system to me, but the biggest is that I’m a week and a half away from completely my bachelor’s degree. Something I had given up hope that I would ever finish. This is over ten years in the making and it’s something that I’m beyond proud of myself for cause I really could’ve given up on myself in this area. In the mean time if you would like to book dm or email me, any support as I’m preparing to cross the finish line in this will be greatly appreciated. The time hasn’t flown, I’ve felt every moment of it. It’s been over a year since the last time I forced myself to share something new (even in the case of my last post which was months old). Time is crazy last month on the 22nd I reached twelve years that I have been doing this and I didn’t even celebrate nor did I feel the excitement, it was just another day of anxiety. I knew I needed to make something to thank all the individuals who have blessed me with their presence and trusted me to bring their vision to life, but I just didn’t have it in me. Anxiety has gotten the better of me for months. Social media and the focus on attention creates uneasiness within me. I want to say that I’ll be more consistent with sharing what I have created, and I want to say that I’ll find joy in it. But that would be a lie. So I won’t say that; what I will say is this…. It’s the growth you achieve when you make the decision to listen to your body and dip into the background that is most important. Never allow someone else’s opinion of what you are seeing/feeling to be the determiner of how you approach your circumstances. Take your time, the most growth comes when you are patient with yourself. Two more things… First, over the last 8 months, I have been developing a brand new workflow, and to compare my old approach to my new approach is night and day. I feel myself becoming the artist I always knew I could be. I hope that the joy I feel when I see the art I’ve created is something you all have the opportunity to experience for yourselves. Secondly, I am in search of a social media manager, I don’t want anxiety to ever get in the way of the chance the art I’ve created has to make a difference for others, so if you have a passion for social media and you love the art I create please reach out. I'm consistently pushing myself inward. Introspection is important, but falling deep into it has been a major source of pain. Over the years I’ve found myself much more aware of who I am, my purpose, and where I’m headed. I refuse to live through another year where I’m seemingly content with not being okay all year long. I’m genuinely working towards a life filled with joy, growth, peace, and grace. It’s time we set our hearts and minds on catering to the light we need in our lives. With that being said, I’m so grateful to have made it to see 31, I was so scared of my thirties and that genuine feeling of being unprepared for this stage of life. I can see how that was reflected in a lot of the hardships I faced last year. I feel so blessed today, most importantly I’ve felt a joy I haven’t felt on my birthday in years. I’m genuinely ready for this year, I’m so glad to have such amazing people around me, and I’m most of all grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day. Thank you so much to each and every one of you for being with me along the way, know that whether we speak often or not really at all that what you’ve added to my life is cherished by me. Recently I have tuned my focus on really making strides towards improving every aspect of my craft. I had to realize that while I believed I could do this, I had not push myself in the ways I should have been all along. This is officially a season of going all in. If you love something you should be willing to give your all to it. If you genuinely believe you can make a difference why wouldn’t you put your whole heart into it. Don’t wait for when everything is perfect, start today. If you’re looking for someone to hold you to your goals let’s be community.
