River Bowl Classic 2026

In a sport where Black athletes make up roughly 2% of participants…

…the River Bowl Classic gave us something we don’t often get to experience at a regatta:

Looking around and seeing Black rowers, Black coaches, Black families, Black excellence - EVERYWHERE.

No feeling like the outsiders.
No wondering if we belonged.
Just community. Competition.
And whole lot of culture.

And when the stadium lights came on?
Xavier handled business 🥇

Eight rowers
One coxswain
River Bowl Classic HBCU Champions! 🥇

We came to race…

… we left reminded why spaces like this matter.

What can I say about the man behind the lens?

The one who has helped me see myself, my vision, my business, my family, and my future with more confidence. The one who captures moments that remind me I’m not just building something I’m becoming someone.

Mr. B.C., Brandon Clemons, I truly thank you.

You have so much that you’re building for yourself, yet you still make time to pour into others. From my daughter’s prom, to her graduation photos, to my branding photos, to the photos of me closing on the land I’ll be building on. @itsbc you’ve captured some of the most meaningful chapters of my life.

I’ve been so used to making sacrifices and being everything for everybody else that sometimes I forget to pat myself on the back. So when you tell me to make time to capture these moments, I may hesitate at first, but I’m always grateful afterward because you help me see the beauty in the journey.

You’ve helped me boost my brain, my confidence, and my belief in what I’m building. And that confidence has become contagious to my family, my friends, and my community.

All I can say is thank you. And when the day comes that I can return the favor, sir, BEST believe it will be an honor.

You deserve all your flowers today. I hope you’re somewhere on a beach with the sand between your toes, enjoying life, loving on your family, and feeling all the love you pour into others.

Cheers to more prosperity, abundance, good health, and being seen in every room you deserve to be in.
