Yesterday was the most important day for me as a graphic designer.

On May 28th, the 2026 OSU Graphic Design Senior Cohourt tabled at our OSU Horizons (@horizons_osu) event, an event where each student showcases their final graphic design project they’ve been working on for 2 terms.

My project was called Seconds, a neighborhood market concept who’s mission is to combat food waste, and make sustainable choices more accessible and affordable to the everyday grocery shopper. The company does this by rescuing aesthetically imperfect product that is perfectly edible, and give it a second chance on store shelves for a discounted rate.

It was amazing to see my months of research and design finally come together at the event, and I had such a lovely time getting to network with industry professionals and fellow beginner graphic designers about my project.

I’d like to thank Jackie Salway for being an amazing teacher and mentor throughout this journey. Her experience and guidance is such an inspiration, which pushed me to make this project the best it possibly could be.

I’d also like to thank my lovely boyfriend, James, for helping me table and set up my project (my grocery clerk)! I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a reliable set of hands to help me prepare my booth.

And finally, thank you to my amazingly talented senior cohort. These past four years have been so inspiring, and I am so honored to soon be graduating with you all! by @itsbellasoth

We had a fantastic visit last week with @jaredragland and @sarajwinston to work on their upcoming book “an unfixed pilgrimage”, to be published by @composit.press in the fall. Students showed their designs and then @itsbellasoth worked together with the artists to refine the design. taken in Oregon State University by @itsbellasoth

Why Do People Lie, Cheat, and Steal?

A magazine spread where we were challenged to make typography the main focus of the design. Lone lampposts to me are very spooky and sneaky, which is why I decided to incorporate it with the topic of stealing/cheating.

Drawing Core Studio | Spring 2023

Bit of an oldie today! This was part of an assignment I did in one of my drawing classes where we had to create an image that represented who we were. For my project, I wanted to express the internal struggle of balancing the creative and academic lifestyle. To me, they both conflict with each other greatly, and it’s hard to keep up without struggling on one or the other.

Since this drawing was made a bit ago, I’ve been trying to accept the fact I can’t be great at everything. So, I choose to be good at art. Please don’t come to me with a math question or to spell check! I will be wrong! by @itsbellasoth

Renegade

Illustrative Design | Winter 2025

Another assignment for this class, only this time we created a short booklet for a song of our choosing. I chose the song “Renegade” by Styx, which illustrates a fugitive getting caught by the law. This project was a bit self indulgent since this song creates a very vivid story in my head, and the characters drawn here are very special to me. Maybe you’ll see more of them, maybe not, but for now enjoy this short comic!

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

For my Illustrative Design class I took over my junior year, we had an assignment that involved creating a drawing based off of a song. I was given “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1” by the Flaming Lips for my illustration. I wanted my design to feel like a movie poster/graphic novel cover. Had so much fun creating a character design for Yoshimi! by @itsbellasoth

Last but not least, badges and merchandise! Badges would be given out to all guests and speakers who attend the event. Both batches have slight differences to signify who’s a speaker and who’s a guest.

Merchandise includes:
- Canvas tote bag
- Sketchbook (to work on comics!)

A closer look at the booklet that is given to guests at the AWP conference.

It was difficult figuring out how to piece together all the information needed for the booklet, but I learned a lot about composition, hierarchy, and unique ways of using text!
