✨DYKE-OTOMY✨ a they/them comedy special at @lyrichyperion Monday Oct. 5th at 7pm!
Ticket info in bio. 💖

Thank you to all of my friends, family, mentors, therapists, sponsors and coaches for supporting me in my creative (and life) journey.
Thank you also to my cats, other peoples’ pets and Trader Joe’s for supplying me with the food I eat on a regular basis.
I have a very challenging time allowing myself to be vulnerable on social media.
This show is comedic but/AND it has a lot of heart. I’m proud of its evolution.

Do not allow your inner critic or “the world” to stop you from sharing your creations. That *voice* has very convincing arguments. Don’t buy them. ❤️

Thank you @danikleinmodisett for your directing/mentorship and thank you @zackandticklemuff for your talent, support and for editing this vid. 🥰

Last year, @akt3000 shot a video of my comedy show QUIRKS and a little BTS discussing comedy while exploring my gender and also drumming at my gay church.

Performing “DYKE-OTOMY” at @lyrichyperion was the most fun and present I’ve ever felt on stage…

All of my friends lit that room up and were so OPEN, playful and supportive. I love you, dearly.🥹

I know this is just the beginning but this particular evening surpassed anything I’ve experienced.

Sure, I’ve been working harder and am more focused than I ever thought possible (for me), but I’ve also been allowing myself to be ME - instead of whoever the hell else I used to think I *should* be.
It is a precious gift to accept ourselves as we are in this moment. Sure we’ll evolve and improve and become wiser, but who we are *right now* is perfectly good. 🙏🏻

Shoutout to @ianzandi for these incredible photos 📸 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

And @zackandticklemuff for opening and for being hilarious and adorable. ❤️

And @danikleinmodisett for your direction, guidance and encouragement❤️

“Bo is a gifted and hilarious comedian with a very unique story that somehow everyone will still relate to. Gay church, top surgery, praying mantises, a wild testosterone journey….and much more. You will love this.” - I actually wrote this.

⭐️ I’ve been working on this show for a few years while simultaneously beating myself up for “how long it’s been taking me”. Because who the hell wants a PROCESS. I wanna just create a thing immediately and have it be incredible right away. Actually I don’t really wanna do the work at all. I want it to just exist….And it makes sense because witnessing myself show up less than “perfectly” has felt impossible and frankly makes me wanna rip my hair out.
Here’s what I’m learning in real time: everything is a process and I’m *willing* to let go of how I *think* things “should” go. Because nothing ever really goes how we want it to.
Often it can go much better than we’ve expected.
🙈 My ego will try to talk me out of doing *anything* that I truly want to do because it scares the shit out of me. I understand that it’s a protective mechanism and I also understand that it keeps me small and “protected.” But it hurts because we naturally expand as we evolve and I’d rather have growing pains than keeping myself in a GD box…pains.

Do the thing. Start it. Get support. Fuck around and find out. You are loved. People give a shit. Any other story you tell yourself is a lie, dear ❤️

Special thanks to @katienovotnyyyyy @itsroryjames @ianzandi @zack_binder @katezasowski @mariawilsonlaughs @subhaha
