A few cameo moments on the big screen 🎬👀

Beyond thankful to have been a small part of a Filipino film that’s unafraid to tackle family, financial struggles, and real-life social issues. Getting to experience the film from a completely different perspective made it even more special.

Written and directed by Joseph Abello, the 2026 Filipino comedy-drama stars Joross Gamboa, Rita Daniela, Alwyn Uytingco, and Zion Cruz.

The cinematography, especially the long, uninterrupted takes, was beautifully executed and gave the film such a distinct feel. The script was so well thought out, sharp, natural, and full of moments that really land. And the performances? Wow. 100/100!

WANTAWSAN is one of the entries at the CinePanalo Film Festival, and you can catch it in cinemas until October 4. The film is about family/money struggles, and the choices people make when life gets difficult, while also touching on corruption and realities many Filipinos can relate to. Definitely a must watch!

Just the kind of silence that makes you realize how loud life has been.

It’s strange how quickly your nervous system forgets what calm feels like.

What peace feels like.

Somewhere between these islands and the open sea, I remembered what it feels like to simply exist.

And maybe that’s enough.

El Nido, you were exactly what I needed.

A little Flashback Friday (Part 1) as we get ready to reopen @octopusmakati soon 🐙 If I told my younger self that I’d be working as an artist handler/marketing manager in the nightlife industry and meeting all these amazing people, I wouldn’t have believed it. So grateful for the journey, and here’s to coming back stronger✨ by @itschelcastillo

Throwback to my first Central Asian restaurant 🇰🇿

Late post from my visit last March 🇭🇰

@yurt.hk is Hong Kong’s first modern Central Asian restaurant, founded by a team from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, serving authentic Halal dishes from across the region. Both à la carte and tasting menus are available.

They’ve also recently introduced a new Discovery Menu, so there’s even more to try now.

So homey, interiors 10/10

ACHICHUK ✨ Cherry tomatoes, quinoa, and red grapes. Fresh, light, and slightly sweet with a nice mix of juicy and earthy flavors.

BAURSAK ✨

From @yurt.hk: Back home, this golden-fried dough is no mere bread. It is a sacred offering and a symbol of hospitality so deep that it is always the first thing placed on a table and the last thing remembered in a prayer.

Traditionally, baursak arrives plain and pillowy with the sour cream and honey sauce on the side, and we honour that by having this signature readily available always. For our tasting menu, we dared to fill it with silky truffle and delicate shrimp, a small gesture of stitching our Central Asian ancestry to the city we now call home.

This is how a sacred thing stays alive, by growing, not forgetting.

SEA COURSE ✨ Sea bass served with pumpkin and mung bean purée. A delicate, savory course with creamy textures and a subtle sweetness from the pumpkin.

LAMB RACKS ✨ Marinated lamb served with mashed potato, champignon mushrooms, and black pepper sauce. Rich, savory, and hearty, with the pepper sauce adding a warm, bold finish.

BESHBARMAQ ✨ Horse meat, marinated beef, homemade noodles, potato, carrot, and horse meat sausage. A hearty traditional Central Asian dish with rich, comforting flavors.

Also, my first time trying 🐴 meat!

PALATE CLEANSER: ICE CREAM ✨ Lime and lavender ice cream. Bright, floral, and refreshing between courses.

APORT ✨ Green apple cheesecake with caramel. Creamy, tart, and lightly sweet.
