maybe one day I’ll speak on it but for now.. don’t ask me why I don’t make being jamaican my entire personality. 😂

I am childfree FOR L I F E. I would not be where I am now if I had a child and where I want to be in life will N E V E R include a child.

this sentiment will never change neither will my stance on my beliefs. I’m agnostic and I no longer live my life with existential fear. I believe in what I can see, touch experience and most importantly, I believe in myself. 🩵

learning Spanish as an adult is one of the best choices I’ve made so far.. difficult but rewarding. I love Latin American culture and since moving there, being able to communicate with people who live there and respecting their culture and way of life is the bare minimum. 👩🏽‍🏫

curls around the world 🌎 episode 1: guatemala 🇬🇹

my love for my curly hair and travel both run so deep, this series combines that love perfectly! I couldn’t be more proud to share these experiences with you! I hope you’re excited too 🥹

my visit to Guatemala in 2024 it was a very personal one for me as is all my trips, especially my solo trips.

if you’re not new here if you’re new here, I’m currently learning español which will be my third language. I already speak English and jamaican patois.

my love for latin american culture runs real deep. I’ve been to quite a few countries across central and south america and the caribbean and for me it’s more than just visiting and going on vacation.

it’s appreciating and respecting the culture, period. even though there may not be many women in the countries that I visit who have hair like me, especially in central and south america, I pride myself in showing up in my natural form in how I feel my happiest and my most beautiful, which is with my curly hair.

I don’t care if I get stared at, what’s most important for me is showing up and being myself and taking up space.

I was very surprised to find a curly hair products in Guatemala and I thank you @arlynmlorenzana again for being so kind to me at @twistedscissors.antigua! 💐

as a caribbean woman, the story behind these two shades really touched me and makes me appreciate even more how much the vibrancy of the colors of the caribbean and my culture has shaped my approach to beauty. 🩷

the two new shades are stunning on my olive skin. definitely approved! churro de canela is super close to my skin tone & perfect for an everyday fresh face. coquito dulce is the perfect mix amount of shimmer & glam for all looks! 🩵

I’m a childfree woman and I have never ever desired having kids. I have one life and my definition of womanhood has never included having kids and it never will. this isn’t the “norm” so I really want to show up cuz I never had this representation growing up.

I know it can be difficult to live day to day not aligning with the status quo (oh trust me it is) but i wouldn’t live life any other way.

living in your authentic self is the only way you should live.

there’s so much more for me to experience and I want to do a lot.
here’s what I do instead of having kids & constantly performing unpaid labor ⭐️🩵

I spent a lot of my younger years providing emotional labor I shouldn’t have and having to heal from things I shouldn’t have experienced. I don’t ever want to spend the rest of my life in service to others.. selfish maybe but that’s my choice.

💭do you struggle with friends? why? I know I do.

I’d love a social life and an epic friend group but I can’t handle the lack of consideration & unfortunately it’s been a trend.

we talk a lot about romantic relationships (for very valid reasons!!) but the complications that come with making friends and maintaining friends as a hyperindependent woman (bonus points for childfree AND neurodivergent lol) doesn’t get nearly enough airtime.

I often hear that I have a bubbly personality and I’m very intense.. but it’s only great when people benefit from it, not when it’s time to follow through or respect boundaries.

I’ve been very used to do things alone since I was a child (I’m not even an only child which is funny) and while I’m able to really do most of the things I’ve always wanted to do as an adult (like travel esp) there’s always been a lingering feeling of loneliness of not having anyone witht similar interests and capacity to share it with.

I’m not sure where I am in this journey of grieving and finding joy again but I finally want to talk about it in hopes that I’m not alone.

I have warm olive skin and it’s super hard finding complexion products that complement my skin.. most make me look really orange which is a no go 😅

BUT I think I found my new fav concealer & it’s a perfect match! @benefitcosmetics new porefessional concealers got me right (please know how rare this is LOL). thank you for the gift! 🩵

what I love :

- the shade range is pretty good
- the self setting (I can use minimal powder)
- blends with a sponge & a brush really well
- pairs well with some of my fav products
- the applicator is very unique
- love the coverage it’s medium & buildable so I can customize it to the look I want
- covers my hyperpigmentation and redness really well

what I don’t love:
- it’s not super hydrating so I have to work really fast
