on to the minor details-

whoop is that a name change? yes it is! I finally settled on something I’m happy with… titles are so hard

but I’m SO excited to share more about this fever dream of a story inspired by 2am hunger pangs (it’s 2.40am as I draft this so yes, can confirm it’s still a thing I want a CAESAR SALAD SO BAD), the strange yet crippling fear of being seen as greedy for wanting things, and my love for chinese mythology… not denying there’s a healthy dose of “what the hell is wrong with you” in here as well (but we balling!)

tbh I did NOT expect anyone to like this idea when I first came up with it, but I’m really touched by the amount of support I got and the friends I managed to make thanks to this book 😭♥️

Looking forward to comforting more disturbed people and disturbing more comforted people 😎🤙

meet the writer 🫀🪽

lots of new faces here, so i thought i’d do another hello ♥️🥺

so hello! hi! i’m risa, an aspiring author who writes to indulge herself and the quirky worlds in her head 😌 they are always yelling at me and competing for wiggle room!

here are some other fun facts about me since i have the extra space anyways:

🧠 i used to be scared to consume horror media HAHA, lwk funny how it became like my favourite genre ever

🫁 despite the above, i’ve always been very drawn to horror games - those early 2010 ones I keep finding myself missing like “mad father”, “ib” and “home sweet home” (oh SEA horror you are so iconique). a few more current ones are “little nightmares”, “doki doki literature club” (THE META), “alien isolation”, and omg “detention”?? “devotion”??? UGH i miss them all so much

🩸early internet horror? SCP? creepypasta? the backrooms? yes (i say like you can’t tell)

🗡️ i swear i write things other than horror - i have a few fantasies i’m itching to give love to!

if you like existential dread, messy queers, and love interests willing to go a bit too far for you, heyyyyy hellooooo hiiiiiiiii i’m over here 🥰🥰🥰

WELCOME, CLARISSA! 🖤 🐍

A few weeks late, but given Twitter's demise and since this Instagram is now my main professional social media foothold … I am delighted to share the news that the monstrously talented Clarissa Chang ( @itsrisachang ) has joined my list!

Her pitch instantly drew me in - with a hook line like “BE GAY, EAT GOD”, how could I resist? Featuring: cloning a dead god, corpselust, and a futuristic imagining of ancient China. Risa is a bold, richly creative new talent and I can’t wait to share her work with you all. by @itsclchang

when i watched godzilla 2 for the first time and thought “you know what? an ancient hibernating god lurking beneath the earth’s surface is a great premise to a book” 🫀

———

Dr. Lenner does not believe in elixirs, nor does he believe in deities. He’s forced to confront both when he’s sent on a highly confidential mission to create a youth serum from the corpse of a dead god.

When he sets his eyes on the god’s corpse, however, it’s nothing like he thought it’d be—not shrivelled, not ragged, not rotting. Instead, it’s cloaked in fine garments, skin pale like jade, its face a carved mask inlaid with pearls. He cannot help but fall for its beauty… and in the process, desire a piece of it for himself.

He’d be a fool to believe he’s the only one who feels that way. Some forms of greed just run deeper than most.

OUR FEAST SO DIVINE is an adult science-fantasy horror about a renowned scientist who joins a team of researchers to enter a deserted city, cursed by a god long dead. Their goal is to clone a dead god’s flesh and create a serum of youth.

But he doesn’t anticipate hallucinating its tender embrace, much less revelling in it… nor craving a taste of its flesh.

cover reveal for THE HOUSE OF THE THREE HEADED DOG 🐺🩸

helping my wonderful agent sib @mdantesinferno with the reveal of their next book’s beautiful coverrrr 🥺

credit to M.E. Morgan (@morlev_art ) for the wonderful art!! ♥️♥️

———

The House of the Three-Headed Dog is an M/M dark, sensual, and gothic vampire romance with a trans man assassin lead.

Devon O’Brien has a few secrets: He is an assassin who must find the Crown of the Undying, and he killed the sire of the vampire he must serve.

Living on an isle overtaken by an imperial power, Devon is tasked with traveling to a dreary, peculiar, and seashell-filled coastal manor in Etierre, and he must retrieve a necromantic artifact called the Crown of the Undying from the vampiric lord of the manor, Naberius, who rules over three other vampires. When Devon, undercover, is assigned to serve the fastidious and dry-humored vampire musician Cillian Gallowglass, the two, despite themselves, grow closer and keep each other moored—but never one to let anyone truly know him, he finds himself in a dilemma: Years ago, Devon murdered Cillian’s true sire, and therefore he’s responsible for all the pain Naberius inflicts on Cillian after he took him in. The discovery of that truth may unravel everything, or in their colliding paths toward freedom, penance, and vengeance, Devon and Cillian may find a way to embrace the worst parts of themselves.

what i’ve learnt from writing three books ✍️📖

lwk i’ve written like… four and one quarter books or something but honestly, who’s counting NOT ME

but i thought I’d share some of my thoughts and realisations along this process!!!
of course, it’s different for everybody - i lwk got hit with 4th book depression rather than like… 2nd or smth? idk it’s weird. i thought i would stop questioning everything i do but SIKE IT DOESNT END

regardless, i hope i’ve shed a bit of light on the process, and helped some people feel less alone ♥️

okay so this doesn’t actually happen in the book but it was too funny not to make fun of my MC so TADA everybody gets this GAUAUAUSU

i don’t talk a lot about the other characters in OFSD but just know they bring me as much joy as the MC himself ♥️ i hope you all can meet the rest of the cast one day
