If you knew what I’ve been through, you’d be clapping for me too. 🎓

This journey has stretched me in so many ways mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. There were seasons where I questioned myself, felt behind, and wondered if I’d ever finish.

But by the grace of God, I did.

This is more than a degree. It’s a personal victory for me, for my younger self, for the little girl who went through so much and still had to keep going anyway. It’s a reminder that God can carry you through seasons you never thought you’d survive.

So today, I’m simply grateful. Grateful that I’m still here. Grateful that I don’t look like what I’ve been through. Grateful that I didn’t quit. And grateful that I can finally say I did it! 🎓 #firstgenerationgraduate by @itsdajah

I’ve struggled with maintaining peace for a while because of some of the things that I’ve faced, but despite everything, I still found joy and peace in helping others whether it was at school or helping out at church, and to this day that’s where I find my peace. Hence the name “Give Back Peace”. Just by providing small things or simple necessities that we take for granted each day gives a person peace, even if it’s just for a short amount of time. Peace matters! I love the quote that says, “Stress will kill you as fast as a bullet. Find your PEACE and live there.” because it is so true! Stress is a real thing, a real problem that people of all ages deal with, but young people as well. And it shouldn’t be downplayed just because we are young. We deal with the stresses of life as well. So if you’re feeling stressed, find an activity, a place, a person, a book, or anything that brings you peace! And spend time with that!

I’m super grateful and thankful for allllll the donations I received, and this was just the first of many. The homeless community NEEDS us. Kensington is often times laughed at and joked about, but I promise you! Being out there and giving back is such a humbling experience that I really think everyone needs.
